Copeland up the ying...(and contaminated)

I've recently come across 12 Copeland compressors, all used, smallest is 7 1/2 H.P. through 15 H.P. Some discus, others reed valves. All SUPPOSEDLY ran when disconnected and not very old, 1-3 years. My supplier will not take them for core return without a purchase. Call Copeland direct? Scrap iron prices right now = $0.01 per pound, not a very good option. Desktop paperweights.....?

they wont take them for salvage but copeland will pay a smaller fee for the body as a shell. its only like $50 on a 5 hp.
Try to find a local rebuilding company. We have compressor overhaulers in NY. They need the bodys and will usually pay a few for them.

Yeah try a compressor reman company. Value depends on how much demand there is for that particular compressor, I've turned in some that bring good cores while others they don't even want.

Whats the voltage stamped on the compressors?How many 7.5's do ya have and by the way do the model numbers start with 9rs?I would like to have a few of em for a spare and would like a couple of 10 horse cast iron bodys if ya got em.Really no need for the 15 horse but may takem all if the price is right.How far are ya from southern Ky.

Authorized Copeland wholesalers have what they call a "buy back" program offered by Copeland. Not all models are included but you can get some bucks for the old cast iron bodies as long as there are not damaged.

Salvage credit at XX each. Some Copeland supply houses don't want do the deal because there is no profit in it for them.
