I am trying to control some Trane RTU's through Niagara via lontalk communications. The LCI-I board has been installed from the factory. According to the keypad (HI) on the unit it says the LCI card is installed.

I can see values enter and leave the LCI card through Niagara. But when I try to place the unit into a "fan only" mode to override the current "heat mode", nothing happens. I can send the RTU different setpoints from the Niagara system and it simply doesn't respond.

Some RTU's are configured for constant volume and some are configured for vav. I have already had a Trane Tech out to the jobsite to verfiy snvt's (through Rover). Much to both of our surprise Trane will use nvoSatBlaBla_1 for CV units and will use nvoSatBlaBla for vav units...odd but true. The "_1" snvt's aren't listed in the RT-SVP03A-EN.pdf for the LCI-I card.

My questions are as follows:
1) Should I be able to control the RTU's through the LCI-I card?
2) Is the LCI-I to intellipak interface simply a "read only" interface with no override capability or remote setpoint adjustment?
3) Is there some sort of software switch that needs to be enabled in the Intellipak so I can send valid values and commands and have it respond accordingly?

I need to be able to give the customer setpoint adjustment, Occ / Unocc scheduling for the units, ability to turn the units on / off all from the GUI (Graphical User Interface).

Any help / suggestions are welcomed :)

You should be able to write to the SAT setpoint and the static setpoint as well as some others.

Are you using R2 or AX? You would probably have better responses in the controls forum.

I am using R2. Thank-you for suggesting the controls forum I'll try there next.

1.- yes - The parameters like VAV or CV are configuration parameters you can not just click the button and change configuration of the unit, also unit mode it is binary input for you - something unit does based on the setpoints and scheduling - not something you can write to. But sometimes based on vendor and software I actually see value being written to something like Unit supply pressure - and then we had a hell of a time finding out why VFD was not running.
2. -no - and this is most comlicated issue you will need to find the points and to the best of my memory it will be inputs with LON, which actually exist in the unit and to which you will be able to write - and for CV it will be Occ Cool SP, Occ Heat SP and so on, and this is not real LON names, just aexample.
3.- you don't need any software every time you changed a valid point you can see it in the HI.
