There was an excellent report on TV, in French (RDI Reseau De L'information - The equivalent of the CBC Newsworld in French).
I though Americans might be interested and since it is in French, I figured you'll never hear about it. The quality of the report was first class.
To summarize it: The American Government had opportunities to kill Osama Bin Laden, but decided not to. Apparently, he is living in Pakistan, but OBL is very influential and popular with a large number of people within Pakistan. If the USA were to kill OBL, it would create such a revolt that the current president of Pakistan might end up thrown out of office. And the USA wants to be able to use Pakistan as a base against the growing threat that is China.
They were also talking about the number two, Ayman al-Zawahiri and that Pakistani officials knew the village, street and address of his location. The whole village was not open to foreigners and heavily guarded at every road.
Like I said, the report was quite exhaustive. Extremely plausible. I thought you might want to know. Wouldn't be the first time this US administration is pulling a fast one on its people and the rest of the world.

Its not really news that they wont catch him. Hell they went into the middle east and missed the entire country, Some how the "War on Terror" started out in the right country (Afghanistan) but they took a Hard left and ended up in Iraq. Was a NASCAR driver in charge? Bush wont get OBL and neither will Blair. Its like asking a plumber too do brain surgery on a tumour. If they do get it (him) it was a fluke and most likely the patient (Middle East) will be so F-ed up it will be worse off than before the surgery (War)

Roboteq, nah, Hilary is going to win. I forgot if it's Nostradamus who predicted it or Ned Dougherty in "Fast Lane to Heaven".
Btw, Mr. Dougherty wrote a book, which was available in February 2001 (quite a few months before 9/11), and on page 252 is written: "While acts of terrorism and war and political unrest plague the Eastern Hemisphere, the Western Hemisphere will be spared the worst of the terrorism. However, a major terrorist attack may befall New York City or Washington D.C., severely impacting the way we live in the United States".
It is in the chapter called, "The Future".
P.S. Great book!

The war on terror was never confined to any country....NEVER! President Bush made it very clear right from the beginning that the war on terror would take us into many places worldwide and would be a long lasting venture. It is such a shame that Americans have such a limited attention span, especially when it comes to the very survival of the way of life we enjoy so much.

What was the reason for Iraq? Oh yah "Weapons of mass destruction" Yah thats it. Jr just needed a "reason" to continue Sr's failed war against Sadam. Since we are their.... Lets just skip on over to Baghdad.
I am a Canadian and we are helping with the "War on terror" by being in Afghanistan. Iraq had nothing to do with OBL. The only media that draws a connection to the two are American, CNN and Fox. The "War on Terror" has grown larger due to the US taking a war into Iraq that was non-founded. Now a majority of the middle east is wound up in Anti-American movements. Funny how Sadam had a "Evil regime" (True as it may be) but what about 60% of Africa that has been in a "Evil regime" for decades? How about the MILLIONS killed and displaced in the Darfur region alone? Nope lets not go in and sort that mess out... Lets go after Sadam. Evil as he may have been, he does not hold a candle up to the atrocities the Janjaweed have committed.
Ah yes One war at a time, sorted in order of potential revenue for USA. Africa is oil poor, thus at the bottom of the list.
Dont confuse a "War on Terror" with a War on unfavourable governments. The Bush admin will want you to identify them as the same thing. Remember the fact the war in Afghanistan (that is UN sanctioned I may add) is against the group responsible for US 9-11,UK 7-7, Madrid 3-11. I have NEVER read a story linking Iraq to ANY of the attacks.

I dont understand some of the peoples thinking in this country. They say we shouldnt be in Irag. But yet what securities would this country have if we didnt. How many more 9-11's would we have by now. These people that think this way take for granted the freedom and life style that we enjoy, they never want to retaliate no matter what happens to our country. Thank God we had a President with the gonads to stand up and do something much unlike the previous no balls President we had. Sorry to say but its the price we pay for our freedom and life style, always has been and always will be.:(

We been screwing up over there for years, all in name of business.
We backed any despot that would work with our companies, we have backed Saddam, the Taliban and many others throughout the years. The place is a friggen mess, if it didn't have oil it would be anouthe Darfur and nobody would even give it a second glance. Haliburton is relocating to Dubai now, gee, I wonder why, how much will Cheny make off that deal I wonder?
This explains it all.

I think the stinky Muslims with towels on their heads mean business but as usual liberals would rather attack Americans and American Corporations. If you have a problem with oil, oil that our economy is based on then piss them off and sell your truck and car then ride a bike or walk.
Old hippy Liberals are crying about Corporations leaving the country and taking jobs when in reality 6 years ago we had a attorney general that was hauling them into court and not going after rag heads enrolled in flight schools in Florida that only wanted to learn how to take a plane off and not land. The guys that were here laying the ground work for 911. We had an attorney general and President that was more worried about the Dividian compound in Waco than the Marine barracks, the USS Cole and Embassies that were blow up
I don't blame Haliburton for leaving, just a matter of time that Pelosi will focus on attacking them cause they have no plan for fighting terrorism. Unless you call giving up a plan. Yep, getting back to going after American's is just around the corner again. Those people now are back and nothing but an obstacle. The best thing the terrorist have going because their objectives are long term .

I thought the reason was a bunch of UN resolutions that Sadam never obeyed. You can't keep telling a child not to do something with no consequences behind it.
How about the MILLIONS killed and displaced in the Darfur region alone? Nope lets not go in and sort that mess out... Lets go after Sadam. Evil as he may have been, he does not hold a candle up to the atrocities the Janjaweed have committed.
I believe the US was the first country to officially call the Darfur situation genocide. Unlike Iraq however, there have not been the large number of UN resolutions broken.

China and Russia are also quite a force in the Straits of Hormuz and they are allied with Iran to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars in oil, gas and weapons resources and technology.
