I am interfacing Alerton's Envision for BACtalk with a couple Carrier return air units, and the Carrier rep gave me an analog read-only point called MODEHVAC.

Does anyone know what I can expect to see out of this point and what the numbers mean?

Well, someone provided me with a list for the 48/50 series Carrier RTU, which is one of the ones I'm working with:

Startup
Disabled
Shutting Down
Softstart Request
Rem. Sw. Disabled
Fan Status Fail
Static Pressure Fail
Comp. Stuck On
Off
Test
Tempering Vent
Tempering Lo Cool
Tempering Hi Cool
Vent
Low Cool
High Cool
Low Heat
High Heat
Unoc. Free Cool
Fire Shut Down
Pressurization
Evacuation
Smoke Purge
Dehumidification
Reheat

Now, if I do a little programming in the BCM DDC, I can have a bunch of alarms in my EBT displays (since I can't program an alarm graphic only if an AV point is a specific value).

Hi,

It looks from this enumeration list that this Carrier output is sort of intended to provide something similiar to combination of SNVT_hvac_status and maybe SNVT_hvac_mode. It looks like to map this to the LonMark world a type translator would do this for you.
