So, by using your logic, all Democrats enjoy a good cigar with their intern? Where did you learn your reasoning skills? Romper room? Are all republicans white just because some are? Are all democrats black just because some are? Are all democrats/liberals idiots just because some are? This type of statement is just inflamatory--where is your intelligent discussion concerning the issues? Oh yeah, remember this statement from the article:
"The president of the United States got in trouble for committing a felony in front of a sitting federal judge,"
I think the impeachment proceedings against Clinton were actually for that and not for his infidelity.

Half (50%) of people get divorsed whether Republicans or democrats, so what is your point.
Newt did not perjure himself like Slick did.
Newt went after Willy because he lied under oath about
getting blow job from 18 year old intern.
Question? Why are ALL Republicans hyprocrites?

Surprised with all the DRUG charges he'd remember an affair. You know his fat ugly a$$ was paying for sex......;)

Newt would make a fine president.
He's doing the right thing admitting his past mistakes as opposed to Bill Clinton, who is still in denial about what is and isn't a lie..... and differentiating between a 'no-sex' blowjob and other sexual relations.
If Bill still thinks blow jobs aren't sex, Hillary may not have properly gave him a good one yet....sorry about your luck Bill...close, but no cigar.
Newt's past mistakes will be forgotten if he continues to acknowledge them.
The electorate will focus on what he's done right as long as he stays humble about past mistakes.
This is a distinctive difference that separates him from the Clinton's of the world.
Oh and BTW, Bill's intern squeeze was 35 years or so, his junior. LOL

Jealous??? Sort of a status symbol now a-days where a 50 something successful person can get a 20 something,,,,BTW she was happy someone would do her, nothing Clinton was proud of for sure. A step up from bull-dyke Hillary though.

Status symbol? LOL Healthy reasoning there.
greer points to an affair Newt had with a woman 20 years younger that he ended up marrying, but doesn't see the hypocrisy in having an affair with a barely adult intern 35 years younger. and then crapping on her by lying about it all.
Too bad he wasn't smart enough to keep his man chowder off of her dress.

What 'mindset' is that? I find more than a modicum of hypocrisy in a 'mindset' that condones adultery and corruption for a republican candidate but minimizes adultery and corruption for a democrat. Don't you?
If you blokes are going to preach equality and fairness, I'd expect you to call a liar a liar.
And I'd expect a person to admit their mistakes. which Newt has done.
Funny, I haven't seen a contrite Bill Clinton. Have you?

Um, I think you're all forgetting that the original poster said this was "absolute proof the <that> all republicans are hypocrites". There is 'absolutely' nothing 'absolute' in the referenced article and I challenge anyone to prove that all republicans are ANYTHING. You cannot. This is just an inflammatory remark...that's all. Yeah, a hypocrite is a hypocrite--you can't broadly paint everyone with the same brush and not expect an argument though. Also, lets go back to the point I originally made--"The president of the United States got in trouble for committing a felony in front of a sitting federal judge," NOT for porkin a porky while married to Hilly!

Liberals are so friggen funny aren't they? That is what they get for reading USA Today. Newt didn't drown the bi+ch, make 20 phone calls and report it to the police 11 hours later. He politically paid a heavier price then Bill Clinton did. Democrats flock to see Billy, he has made 20 million talking about not getting Bin Laden when he had a chance and how close he and Hillary is. Newt should have changed parties, he would be a hero now.
HOT SHOT
03-09-2007, 11:23 PM
As was said in the artical (in Clinton's case) it was a matter of perjury, not moral integrity. Also, the defacing (please excuse the pun) of the Oval Office. If Clinton hadn't done it in the Oval Office it would have never been an issue for him to be put in a position to purjure himself. Thus, the issue never being pursued. Had Gingrich been getting blown under the desk of his public office he might well have been put in a similar situation. However, his forthcoming of the truth shows fortitude rather than cowardice.

What you are confusing is the term "family" and intentionally applying it to Newt for political purposes. Family values is not a singular meaning, it means the total family which liberals have been actively trying to destroy along with the Boy Scouts, the Second Amendment of the Constitution, Marriage and the country. What age are you? 3? If you're going to use infidelity as your theme, maybe you should disassociate yourself from humanity in general.
Everyone makes mistakes. Honor and integrity are contained in how we handle past mistakes and adversity.
At least Newt has acknowledged his past mistakes.
Now the public can focus on the positives he offers.
Americans are much more forgiving if they feel they can trust you, regardless of past failures, if you come clean.
What do we see when we look at Bill Clinton?
When we look at his past failures, do we feel we can trust him now?
His legacy will be as a president who helped us define the terms "blowjob", "impeachment", and "perjury" to our children and the rest of the world.
How did he handle it? He denied it all completely until the goods that incriminated him were brought forth. Then, he reluctantly told a version of the truth with Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and a select few other black leaders in tow for political damage control.
Not exactly a model of integrity, is it?

In fact, you've done nothing but minimize the skullduggery in the Oval Office as "nothing more than a hummer".
If under the circumstances, you see nothing wrong with it, you clearly are disassociated. This liberal fool you love to call "daddy" was/is anything but honorable and the proof is in his statements during and after the scandal broke. Review it. Then get back to us.

No doubt about it; Newt's affair makes his preaching family values hypocritical. That has nothing to do with Newt's going after Clinton for lying under oath. The two facts are not relevant to one another.
Why is it that ultra-liberals always want to use the ploy that none of their own is guilty of anything because everyone does wrong things but when someone they wrongly disrespect falls from grace there is no excuse for them? Hypocrites? You betcha.
Wrong is wrong. Clinton was wrong for lying under oath and nothing can make that right. Newt is wrong for having an affair and he is owning up to it. The difference is in how we deal with doing wrong. Ultra libbies make excuses and rally for the wrong doers while reasonable people own up to their mistakes and try to do better.
Thanks to Bill Clinton millions of American youth believe that blowjobs are not a sex act. Do you know where your daughter (or son:eek: ) is tonight?

Here is the hypocrisy: "Gingrich who frequently campaigned on family values issues, divorced his second wife, Marianne, in 2000 after his attorneys acknowledged Gingrich's relationship with his current wife, Callista Bisek, aformer congressional aide more than twenty years younger than he is."
No sir Mr Geer, that is not hyprocracy. It is IMO a double standard, (and I agree that a double standard does look wrong/bad). But when one places themselves in a position of upholding the legal system, they take on the responsibility to understand that what matters is the point of law.
Point of law: Bill Clinton lied under oath. That is a crime. Period. He was impeached. He should have been removed from office.
The message that was communicated when he was not removed from office is that some people are above the law because of their position or power (or their slick mouth in this case).
Same as if one gets a traffic ticket, they pay the fine... it does not matter if the cop was speeding or not. They committed the crime, they do the time (in this case they pay).
The law works like that. Any other system is DANGEROUS!!!!!
Newt, while I do not agree with his sexual behavior choices, was not charged with committing a crime.
It appears to me that the esteemed poster is trying to write the law with their ideals of morals. Funny, but it seems that some folks that grew up in churches tend to be worse about this than folks that grew up in the street.
The law is the law. And a wise person learns how to blindly and accurately administer it.
"God help this country" if the law is made and administered based on moral judgments of folks that are biased... That would be even more DANGEROUS than some folks being above the law.

Every normal male has looked apon some female with lust at on time or another, it's a different matter to act apon it if you are married. Newt is a hypocrite.
Here:
His first marriage, to his former high school geometry teacher, Jackie Battley, ended in divorce in 1981. Although Gingrich has said he doesn't remember it, Battley has said Gingrich discussed divorce terms with her while she was recuperating in the hospital from cancer surgery.

while our soldiers scream in the night knowing their arms and legs are gone..
while Republicans bring our dead soldiers home hidden from view..
while our soldiers pay the price for the lies of Republicans..
for he who sheds his blood each day.. has surely become a forgotten brother..

if you don't laugh, you will cry..
do you really think the Republicans in here give a damn about our soldiers.. i don't think so.. bring it up.. perhaps they'll tell you it's boring.. or they'll blame clinton (Republicans have held total control for 6 years)..
as if that takes care of our soldiers..
hide the bodies and talk about Anna Nicole.. thats what the news will say..
and thats what Republicans will do..
no, i laugh because if i don't it makes me cry.. and i can't fix this..
i served for 10 long years.. in my family it is a duty to serve.. my family of 14 has had 13 serve.. even now my youngest brother is in Iraq, again.. i laugh because i have earned that right..

Ive heard talk of fred thompson entering the fray.... If he does I dont think anyone else will stand a chance....
The only big difference between Newt and Clinton is that newt married his whore.....Clinton just got his a job and sent her packing...... Newt married at two whores....Im not so sure his first wife was actually a 500 dollar whore when he met her....like his second two were....
I dont know if america is ready for a first lady with such colorfull pasts as Newts last two wives.....
I hope Thompson does run...cause he is a good man and he will win.....probably just beat the living **** out of any pug that goes up against him....and I believe most democrats will find him likeable enough to vote for.....
Hollywood type though...but a reserved and dignified type...... not a wimp like Bush either.... I bet thompson could probably come up with a plan for Iraq other than just pouring cash and IED fodder into the country in some wild ass dream that somehow enough money flowing and enough men dying will somehow just make the Iraq problem go away...

Thanks to Bill Clinton millions of American youth believe that blowjobs are not a sex act. Do you know where your daughter (or son:eek: ) is tonight?Question here Robo does bring a very dismal perspective about the future of our country. These ultra-libbies are breeding and teaching a generation that any and all amoral acts are justifiable. Two examples are abortion and gay rights. I'll get out off the soap box for now since this is off target for this thread.

For one thing, Gingrich pioneered a denial of adultery that some would later christen "the Newt Defense": Oral sex doesn't count.
In a revealing psychological portrait of the inner Gingrich that appeared in Vanity Fair (September, 1995) Gail Sheehy uncovered a woman, Anne Manning, who had an affair in Washington in 1977 with a married Gingrich. "We had oral sex" Manning revealed. "He prefers that modus operandi because then he can say "I never slept with her." Manning added that Gingrich threatened her "If you ever tell anybody about I'll say you're lying."
Gingrich refused to comment on Manning's charges, though he has admitted sexual indescretions during his first marriage. But Newt's oral sex denial proved embarrassing when he was the leader of the "family values crowd, appearing frequently at Chrisitian Coalition gatherings.
In his book, Gingrich rails against sex outside marriage and celebrates family life as it was portrayed in the pages of Readers Digest and the Saturday evening Post from 1955.

What I find interesting here is that it would appear that Christian Scripture is accurate: The Bible says that "...Pride goeth before a fall..." (it is in the book of Proverbs). It would appear that regardless of which side of the isle you prefer, the same (Biblical) principles seem to apply (in this thread alone, there are examples on both sides of the isle).
I want to say it again, and strongly: If we are smart, we will hold both sides of the isle accountable to the same rules. It is IMO just childish and shows a lack of wisdom and understanding to criticize one side of the isle while defending the other. They are ALL crooked, and all need to be held accountable to the same rules, period!
