Don't just go in and change your dates, the patch also addresses something in Java. If you don't patch it, I hear that your trends will be screwed!

I patched a bunch of sites yesterday and the trends are A-OK today. Maybe your info comes from someone who didn't apply all the updates through the one issued for daylight savings time.

Drafty, what I am saying is that if you don't patch it and just change the dates manually, your trends may not work correctly. By your description you did it the right way.
