I have a horizontal furnace that has a supply plenum 20x21 that transitions into a 16x19 vertical piece of duct. Within that 16x19 piece of duct is the a coil( uncased upflow). I was looking at a hvac supplier for an a coil for a 3 ton unit but the size of the a coil is to large for the size duct I have. I was considering a horizontal slab a/c coil but I am not to familiar with the pros or cons related to them. I am trying to replace the furnace and a/c unit with minimal changes to the ductwork. The furnace is located in a open crawl space. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
