I went out for 3 quotes in the fall for replacing my 40 year old gas furnace. My question is, is it common for prices to go down in the spring as companies are trying to get rid of the previous years models and they aren't as busy?
I've heard a couple advertisements on the radio recently offering discounts, wondering if it was a scam.
Also, I wouldn't want to offend a reputable company by calling them up and asking for a discount.
thanks!

have not heard of a "leftover discount" in 30 yrs of this business.
units do not have a model year.
only way you might get a discount is a large company looking to keep guys working.
if you called me today for a job we quoted in the fall the price would be higher.
the way equipment and material prices keep going up , waiting is not a good idea.

In areas with slow seasons, you likely will get a better price now than when we are swamped. Normally things are pretty quiet here this time of year but the bitter cold February helped things and we don't have to give away work QUITE AS MUCH. Obviously a change during peak times can be pricey plus you may have a wait or have to use someone who for whatever reason isn't backed up.

There is a company down the street from me that is giving away a free furnace when ya buy an A/C this week!
Something tells me that is one expensive A/C unit! :D
An AT500 deal..........:D
Yea, it can be a little slower this time of year, but you get what you pay for!

Don't wait any longer. You are likely to have another price increase handed down from the manufacturers, and also Air Conditioning Season is just around the corner.

(in general) HVAC prices never go down, due to the ever increasing prices of everything else!
