I was in the Army in the late 80s.

I would follow many female into combat.

I fully support a draft for everyone. Or right don't come freely. I believe everyone that is able should pay their dues.

The draft is a pug thing........we dont need the goverment telling us that we HAVE to go and fight dumbya's vanity haluburton oil war, to search for WMD's that arent there, and "remove all the evil do'ers" from the planet.

No draft needed, just make it mandatory for everyone to serve in the Military :) They could always use someone to clean, cook, and shuffle papers around a desk. That might help get some of today's youth on a better path and teach them some work and social ethics

 Who is this gonna wind up?

Why not? Women want equal rights in ALL workplaces, right? How does that not include combat?

Are there not women that have been killed or wounded in combat in Iraq? Does that qualify? G.I Jane??? (Although I seriously doubt that the women who would be "combat ready" would remotely look anything like Demi Moore...) Isreal has Female combat soldiers, why not the US?

Isn't this what the women who serve in the Millitary now do?

That's BS. Please read my post from an earlier thread.

Women are inferior to men in the military in all MOSs expect in the medical field.

Back in 1968 when the draft was scraping the bottom of the barrel to get bodies in uniform a study was made by the Pentagon and printed in the Army Times on women in the Military. The study was on rather or not to open more positions to women. These were for troop clerks, supply personnel, cooks, and other non physically demanding jobs. The study concluded that this would be a waste of tax payer’s money for three reasons. 1. Women had a much higher sick call rate than men. 2. Women had a much higher drop out rate during their first tour of duty than men. (Getting pregnant, dropping out due to incapability, mental breakdowns, etc.). 3. Women had a much lower reenlistment rate in the service than men (the military depends on a good reenlistment rate to keep up well trained personnel in the ranks and it is a great waste to the tax payers money to have to train new personnel every few years for 9 months or so. The study basically said that then WACs should be kept the same be primarily for the military hospitals. I read the article while in the service. I’m sure today in the PC atmosphere there could never be a study like that. They would have to say that women are equal to or superior to men.

Well since the Pentagon did the study in 1968, it must be true.

And I'm sure all the career females will agree with it.

Not to mention if males could get pregnant they of course would not use that excuss to leave the service.

Wasn't even thinking women, I was thinking about the crybabies who seem to be clueless as to what the world is really about. Sit them down in a tent in Iraq and let them see what is going on over there, who knows maybe then attitudes and opinions might change!

Whoa sorry musta hit the twilight zone or something, that'll never happen. :D

Well, I think that just might have happened to Dick Cheney this week when the taliban tried to take him out. Perhaps this will be his wake up call.

Yeah, apparently as long as they don't have to deal with a 125 lb. woman with 40% less muscle carrying their wounded body away from a firefight, they don't give a fig.
Reality becomes jaded when your life is tied up in the value of backpacks and hiking boots.

Is this another "half assed" attempt to agitate me? How mature.

(I should know better than to feed the sillybilly troll, but I cannot resist the temptation)

Simply pointing out the obvious to you wanker.
When you become a man, you'll understand what is most important in life.
For now, keep climbing and enjoying the freedoms you have.
They're not guaranteed to anyone.

I guess ace thinks that medical work is below combat duty in intelligence and import. What a freakin' clueless idiot.

We don't need a draft because we will end up with a bunch of un-trainable girly boys like Oloenneker, Nutknocker and Harley Rider (Acefurnacefixer) that are worse then having women in combat. The military already reaches it's recruiting goals now of real men. Why would we want traitors and enemy sympathizers?
