I was introduced to a control product today that sounds to good. It is made by Proliphix. It is supposed to be an all in one IP controllable thermostat. Does anyone have a project they have used it on and is it as easy and dependable as the company claims? The pricing is also really good compared to Honeywell LON. Any thoughts???

This may be a great company with a wonderful future, but it they don't succeed, how will you access the stats without their RMS?
It doesn't appear that they have some features that Honeywell T7350H do have - 365 day clock, aux contact for economzer or TOD, only two models needed. The T7350H being Lon will integrate in larger systems, not just be stand-alone.

Access if they go broke was one of the big questions I already thought of. As far as larger networks, I understand that you are able set up a building with all systems on one network using multiple stats. On larger project honeywell will beat them on price due to the cost of the stats. I also wondered when they would make you subscribe to their web service for access.

One quirk that I didn't like about the Proliphix was the need to manually mouse click on "Refresh" in the browser window to see updated info (e.g. temperature, status, etc.). In other words, it didn't dynamically update. Maybe they've fixed that by now.
Oh yeah, that and the issues raised in the other posts about it requiring the use of their server.

These IT-type companies still don't get the fact that the majority of people aren't going to pay them monthly fees to have their proprietary thermostat communicate to their server that the customer needs to pay money to see.
Plus, they aren't even utilizing JAVA so they don't get updating variables without refreshing the web page.
Yesterdays news. Move on.

So, Indy...Is your new Avatar supposed to represent the group you belong to? I don't think they would like that very much.
