View Full Version : Varible speed with humifier help!

Can I use a steam humidifer with Trane varible speed? M#TUD100RV5K4. This humifier has a 24 volt circuit and Trane says to break humidistat circuit to R and BK terminals and cut W14 jumper on circuit board, but how can this work if R and BK are putting out 24 volt signal?

Are you installing this?
All I can say, that you got the wrong info about the wire up. Get a dealer in to wire this up right.

I installed it today but the fan ramps down too slow. Trane tech said to break humidistat to R and BK but I don't think he listened before he started talking (just my opinion) They are very helpfull! This is not your normal two wire humidifier. Thanks for your reply.

What you just had done is for A/C. Not, for heating.......
I am suprised that they did this with you over the phone.

It has a outdoor sensor to the humidistat that will lockout the humidifier, so can you tell me then what is the R and BK is for?

R and BK is used in cooling mode to slow down the blower to dehumidfy the home in the summer.

I cannot believe a dealer would encourage his customer to try this...
