Supermarket out of town, 3 hours away from home. EPC2000 (1992 hussmann control) doing its death rattle. Go out last week to see what I can do. Its NFG. powers down randomly every couple hours and then restarts. (at least it restarts) Make up a parts list of whats needed for the change to a E2. Order the parts last Friday, of course its a long weekend and the parts SHOULD arrive tuesday. Only half show up, the E2, transformers, one 8RO and one transducer. The rest on back order, shipped out but will arrive the following day.

So we drive out to the store with the parts in hand and will have to ship the remainder on the bus for pickup. Well Today we were doing all the time consuming work, pre-wiring and moving existing boards to make room for the switch. Well we shut down the rack to weld in some access fittings for the new transducers. When we went to start the rack of course it wont. had to shake the wires and boards to get the thing running. This tells me we are on borrowed time. Typical.

HERE is where I just get pissed. Co-worker puts the back order parts on the bus this morning at 10:00. Expected to arrive in town here at 6:00pm. we go to the depot and guess what... No parts. The GIRL behind the counter says to me when I ask where they are "Im not in Calgary am I" (where they were shipped from). I almost reached over the counter and smashed her head on the desk. Then she says they cant start to search for the missing parts until 48 hours after they were expected to arrive..... WTF!!!!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Murphy strikes again.

If it's contract, yea, I'd be pissed.
If it's T&M, not as pissed.

calm down big timer, some times you need to step back

and realize not everybody cares about doing their job

as much as you (and i), this is a great trade to be in, not alot of

people (pions) are able to have pride in what they do for a job,

hope your venting worked and with that being said, posting things like

someone is gonna die, and shooting people could get you in a little

trouble, choose your posting verbage carefully, good luck, and take it easy!

Gotta agree with bryan. That's not my job, client, or company and now I'm pissed about it. Go make the new guy clean something. That always makes me feel better. :D

You ever leave a supply house without checking your order?

This stuff is SOP.

there was a supply house that it was manditory that you check it every time because the potheads would pick most of the stuff on the order. too busy BS'ing and goofing off. we had to use them because they had the cheapest prices on most stuff, even though it sometimes took 3 times as long to get out the door and on the road. what a waste of time. over the years they have changed and got better about it.

I had the same problem one time with Trane getting some control parts. no matter how I explained it, they couldn't understand what I needed. the sales rep had to visit the jobsite and see exactly what was going on to get it straight.

For me this time its not a wholesale issue. I mean CPC had to ship the missing parts the next day overnight. Cant complain about that really. Have to give CPC credit for putting my list together in short order.... My beef is with courier companies. How do they stay in business? Most of the time when I have things sent on the bus its either shows days after it was scheaduled too or not at all. Same thing with Fex-Ex or UPS, Purolator ect ect. It reminds me of a sign on the back of a Oil field Hot Shot courier. "On time or its late"

Courier companies are in the ranking of Weatherman. Just a best guess, and if your wrong, Oh well. Wish we could do business like that.
