Ok i have limited info to help.. Im just lookin to be pointed in a good direction. This is the first rack system i have worked on.

I have a draw cooler thats at 80 degrees. The top/ pan section of the unit is at temp. Evap fans are all operating, thertmostat is set at 6. The unit is on a rack and not labled. I watched a few of the compressors cycle and checked the glass and they were all clear. There is a stat for the pan and a stat in the lower box. I saw a liquid line solenoid valve and a tvv that went to the pan chiller, and also split off and went out back of the unit where i cant see it. I am assuming that goes to the base unit? All other coolers are down to temp/ no problems. I couldnt stay long to look much into it because of the time period. How can i tell what comp it is? In this arrangement i described what would the thermostat be controling, seeing there was 2 stats.. What do u guys think i should look at first?

Thanks for what little info u can give me with what i described.. Ill post more info as i get it..

The lower stat might be set to #6 but, do you have power to it? Start there and check power. If that checks move to the solenoid check power there. Drop two K-12 leads and measure your T.D. @ inlet and outlet. If that checks move on to your TXV. Check your LL temp inlet which should be the same or very close to outlet temps on your solenoid. Confirm TXV flow by removing sensing bulb and emerse it in a bath of warm water. All that should take you 15 minutes. Have fun.

I only say one TXv and one solenoid. Is it posssible there ursing one for the top and bottom but still have 2 thermostats? Doesnt make much sense to me seeing they run diffrent temps. But then again i havent delt with a system like this yet.. And the pipes are all behind units that cant be moved, but there are a few access doors.. Thats where i located the TXV, solenoid and the stat for the upper pan chiller.

Nice easy one the thermostat didnt have a good connection because condensation had been dripping on the terminals and rusted them so i cleaned the stat up and poped it back in and got a new one one the way.. But whats up with delfield cooler and **** evap coils? This cooler is a year old and the evap looks like ****. Wont suprise me if its porse. I changed another delfield cooler evap that was 3 years old.. I know the acid from the food is harsh but after a year?

Kind of put two& two together when you asked for a link for Delfield. Ther should have been a metal sheild over the t-stat inside the mullion coil. As for the quality, well you prep units take a real beating just by nature of the natural food acids. The best thing I can offer to you is to keep reminding folks to keep all food product covered inside when not in use.;)

Yea there was nice little shield over the stat, but water must still be hitting it some how because it was pretty rusted.. Its just sad the stores not even a year old and the coil is prob leaking
