I live in australia which is close to the hole in the ozone layer. I was in the sun (summer here) for 3 hours and got painfuly sun burnt. The blame rests 100% on you frigy's and your CFC's! Thats 2 extra cancers im gonna get now! THANX ALOT!

No sun screen in the land down under?
I'd give about anything to be able to get a sunburn right now - This is how my day is shaping up (http://www.weather.com/weather/local/54701?lswe=54701&lwsa=WeatherLocalUndeclared&from=whatwhere)........

sun screen needs to be subsidised by the refrigeration industry and public liability law suits filed.
How many deaths thru skin cancer have you caused? how many lives per kilo of refrigerant released are taken?

...............I can hear the public service announcements now - refrigeration men/women kill more people a year than cigarettes...........:D :D

Sparky's power up lights, motors, all sorts of stuff that requires more burning of fossil feuls contributing to global warming, making the world come to an end which kills every one.
Also people can die from an electric shock and a burning house sparked by bad wiring.

I hate to be the one to tell you, but the ozone hole is seasonal. By mid December last year the hole filled in. I know this can put a big dent in a good rant.

You can only blame your sunburn and at least one of the two cancers on stupidity.

No no, he is right. Let shut down all the HVAC/R in the world including automobiles and go back to the "little house on the prairie days":D
I cant wait to put on some overalls with no shirt!:p

Skotup,
I am with you man. The senseless destruction these ignorant refrigeration techs has cause is inexcusable, and unfortunately irreversible.
Now maybe I am a bit biased sicne I am in the industry, but my hatred lies with the world's hairdressers. If I think of all the CFC infected hairspray fashionably burning a hole in the ozone in just makes me want to set on fire every poofy hair bimbo I see.
Keep up the fight man!

Skotup -
Do like we do in the southwest - wear a hat, drink lots of water, pray for more "global warming", and go make some money.

hair spray uses butane as the propellant, not R22 or HydroFlourocarbonsomethings. And C02 does not conduct heat well so global warming is making the weather mild, not hot or cold.

hey since we're on this warming topic it's -17C here now so bring it on!! haha j/k
on another topic but I dunno if this is a myth or some fairy tale but is it true that NASA did/do release large amounts of liquid cfc refrigerants to cool the base that is used for thier rocket/shuttle launches?

yer what is that ice and mist you see breaking off the surface of the shuttle when it launches?

I think that is water vapor that collects on the wings of the shuttle and then drops off during launch
mikeysq: if they used anything to cool the pad I would expect them to use an expendable refrigerant like liq. nitrogen or liq CO2 but as far as I know there are blast tunnels to channel all of the exhaust away from the launching area.

liquid hydrogen or whatever the hell they use will do that.

Ice that builds up on the LOX (liquid oxygen) tanks. When they open the valves and that stuff boils off it turns cold, just like a refrigerant tank does when you're pulling vapor out of it. The humidity in the surrounding air freezes on the cold surface of the tanks.
