Need a little help on acquiring an old/discontinued Trane Tracer 100/1000 VAV Command Unit.

My local Trane Rep has told me this is obsolete and no replacements are available, my only solution is upgrading the system. I am hoping someone may know a distributor or reseller of older parts that I could check with.

The current 1st floor panel is dead and I need something to get my customer by with. My customer just bought this building and already knows they need to replace this system. They have already budgeted to upgrade the plant & AHU’s this year with CCN.

The VAV’s are slated to be upgraded down the road as tenants change or UCM’s die. The plan is to leave the current front end [DOS based] in place for computer access and use the Global Binary Inputs to command the VAV’s.

So if someone has one collecting dust, let me know. I am even interested in used ones without a warranty, as long as it is not DOA.

Thanks in advance ….

maybe ask this guy:

Not sure if CCN would be a wise choice, would not bet that it would be around much longer and that would leave the customer in the same boat all too soon down the road.

I will try him, thanks. I did search eBay before posting under keyword “Trane” and that guy didn’t come up.

We have done CCN in all their buildings for years and they have been happy with it. I don’t believe Carrier is going to abandon the current line of CCN. They will be replacing the current ones, but the new ALC/i-Vu will be compatible with the CCN controllers.

I have talked to one of the Carrier Techs, which has worked on a job that integrated CCN with the new system [mix of new & old]. The i-Vu Integrator allows you to access & program CCN devices from the new front-end.

Below are a couple links @ Carrier …...

Cool, I thought I heard CCN was going to go away soon, and that replacements would not be available long. Again, its just what the rumor mill said, not saying it is 100% factual.
