For all of you who encouraged me to stick with it, and any of you who by chance remember me from a few months ago.
I went to work as a machine operator in a factory. In the meantime, I applied for entry into the UA about three months ago.
Well, it seems that UA Local 614 out of Memphis,Tn has taken notice, and accepted my application for the Apprenticeship Program. Seems Trane is looking for an apprentice around these parts, and I got called in to test for the interview. The test is supposed to be on simple math (adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying fractions) and basic language skills. There are 10 of us taking the test. Highest score gets the bid on the interview with Trane. The rest is Feb. 22, and I feel confident about taking the test with high marks. So for those of you who encouraged me, thank you. The apprenticeship is 5 years, with two day a week , school room technical training after work. I know Im intelligent, just hoping and praying I get the bid. Wish me luck! and thanks again!
