is supplying weapons and undermining our efforts in Iraq, why isnt proof of this presented to congress. All I have been reading about are accusations. I would like to see the evidence. I have little doubt that they are however, if your going to accuse a country and involve the public, shouldnt the evidence be presented??

Ah yes proof. Proof is always good. The trouble with proof is that we are never sure it proves anything.
In a former life I used to give what I thought was proof by giving all sorts of details that I believed was fact. All those details could have been fabricated or misinterpreted and of course the other side tried to prove just that. And in some cases they were right.
The Germans provided dead bodies to show Polands aggression in 1939. The Germans provided dead bodies in the Katin forest showing what the Russians had done but no one believed them.
Lie once and your proof of facts become highly suspect even when true.

Yes, but pictures identifying the Iranian border, the shipments moving across it and the perps would be more than just lip service.
Hopefully, they'll shoot themselves in the foot and the evidence will become irrefutable.

Of course, we will always have retards who will insist it's all fabricated.

No the point flew over your head.
He did not find any WMDs and it is not like he planted any to save face, like a cop shooting an unarmed black guy and planting a gun.
You were saying that he was going to contrive a proof, create evidence to go into Iran.
You know what struck me odd about this conversation. Remember Afganistan way back there, when the Russians invaded it and got their butt kicked....who supplied the weapons for MR. Bin Laden..and isnt that where everything got started....but hey...it made the mitlitary industrial base happy and wealthy, just like it does today...on the back of our fallen sons and daughters.
When are we going to learn that these wars have less to do with ideaology, and all to do with control and wealth.

Tell you what guys: There is a way to know a lot more than the mainstream media prints. Go to this website: www.stratfor.com
This is an organization started by a guy that is a retired spook (CIA). He has lots of contacts all over the world, and collects information. If one were to 'subscribe', they would get from 3-7 Emails a day with various reports and intelligence. The information is concise, accurate, and waaay beyond what one will read in a publicity driven rag like Time, Newsweek, etc. The service is a couple of hundred a year, and is a must have for many investors, corporate CEO's, and generally folks that just 'want to know'. Be ready to invest an hour or more a day reading to keep up with Stratfor, there is a lot to consume and understand.
On the issue of Iran fanning the flames in Iraq, and proof:
World politics is not about proof. It is about influence. Yeah, sometimes there is a smoking gun. But most of the time the deals are made behind closed doors and the truth never is published. It is just how the game is played. It is really more like a poker game IMO. Solving a problem in public would require someone loosing face. Then they would retaliate and the other guy would loose face. Not the way they play the game. And be sure about this: There are two goals: Influence (read that as power), and oil. Sometimes in the other order.
Now before you get all upset over wars over oil, think for a minute what life would be like in the USA with a considerable about less oil???
chillbilly
02-08-2007, 10:55 PM
I'm not concerned with what the mainstream media prints or what the influences or outcomes are going to be.
There's a war being fought there. People are dying as a direct result of Iranian support.
I don't give a **** about the influence and politics in the region.
I have pointed out that every reporting entity in the ME supports the assertion with material proof, arrests and seizures that Iran is and has been supporting Shiite Militias in Iraq as well as previously in Lebanon.
What idiot in their right mind is going to deny it?
I'll let you decide for yourself.
Here's a hint...It's the same maroon who denies any American responsibility for Muslim anger and hatred directed toward Americans and their interests.
In Pleasantville, where this idiot turd resides, Americans can do no wrong therefore they don't have to accept any responsibility for anything.
If we can get him to plant that Loser sign over his own head, we will be headed in the right direction.

Bombing Iran would not be a good idea...
Here are some of the reasons why:
Iran now has a missile system with radar that will allow it to catch our fighter/bombers (even the stealth bombers). Just got it from Russia a few months ago.
Second problem: If we bomb Iran, Russia will consider it an act of war against their ally and start bombing the US.
Third problem: Iran has multiple batteries of Chinese 'Silkworm' missiles in the straight of Hormuz at the tip of the UAE (United Arab Emerites). There are at any time a dozen or more oil tankers in that area. If we hit Iran HARD, they could sink half a dozen tankers and close the straight. Think what would happen if ALL the oil that comes from Iran, Kuwait, Iraq, and half of the oil from Saudi Arabia were off the market for a year or so...
Can you say $5.00 gas??? And heating bills close to $1000 a month for some folks? What would that do to the economy???
No, it is not a good idea to just bomb them... The results would not be in our best interest.

None of them are legitimate reasons for not taking out the trash. NATO and the US developed counter measures to deal with RADAR many years ago. Russia would never bomb the US based on an attack on Iran. Russia was in it for the money. The checks have cleared and they did not give any warranties to Iran that included acts or war when selling military systems...duh

The thing about bombing Iran is that after the bombing and the killing and the mayhem....we taxpayers are going to be faced with providing medical and food aid to the people we bombed and sought to kill....
I see nothing wrong with the US bombing Iran or Iraq or anywhere else...target hospitals schools and nurseries for all I care.....lets just not go out and start sending in aid after we are done.... You dont punish people by bombing them and then coming in and taking care of them....
This may work with non muslim nations but the muslims are just not going to bite....even handing out billions in Iraq still is not gaining any results.....how will it help in Iran.....
also...it looks like the administration has chosen to buy off north korea again.....thats going to cost us a chunk of change too.... does the US have an unlimited amount of money that it can be used to pay off these extortionists ??? Im getting pretty damn tired of seeing my tax dollars going out of this country to bribe corrupt politicians while people in this country could benefit more if the money stayed home..

With all due respect James, the sources of information I have would dis-agree with your statements.
I cannot post proof of my positions, because some of my sources are private paid subscriptions I cannot copy/paste (against the rules of the folks that sell the information). And good information is not free.
On the topic of good information, try watching the daily news from a foreign country (like England or Germany) every day for about a month...carefully comparing it to what we get here in the USA. Then tell me that the media here is a good source of real truth as to what is going on... Not that British or German news is always right, just that USA news is NOT the final word.
Here is one thought though: Yeah, Russia might not fly a military aircraft over the USA and drop a bomb. But they very well could (covertly with ways to make it impossible to prove) finance someone else to plant a suitcase nuke (that they produced) in a subway somewhere in the USA. And with our lax border control, it appears to me that would be easy to do...
Here is something to think about: Remember when we bombed Libya to send a message to Kadafi in the 1980's? Then next year we had PanAm 102 blow up over Scotland.
Be careful here guy, things are not as easy as punching out the bully on the playground...

I spent 11 years at USCENTCOM inside the pentagon's mobile com group called JCSE and don't watch network new that much because it has turned into a entertainment frenzy. Russian weapons grade plutonium can be traced as well as all the rest. We just had the cold war and forcing Russia to remove there close strike nukes from Cuban. If it wasn't for selling Porno and weapons Russia would be broke . Russia knows that 50% of the Trident sub based nukes with multiple war heads is aimed at them not to mention 2/3 thirds of the Air force nuke triad. A Russian bomber will not get into US Airspace. Russia knows the MAD rule still applies if it makes an aggressive move. The sad thing here is that we have let the third world countries go too far. We and the rest of the world that cares about living on this planet should have cleaned up a long time ago.
