Does anybody have problems with UPCM edit randomly locking-up. PCM edit and PCL does the same thing. Hopefully somebody has a fix for this.
They are running on a Dell latitude D610 w/XP

I have not worked for Trane in 6 years, so I do not use that software as much as I use to. However if I remember PCM edit, UPCM edit, PCL edit, LCU edit and EWARE were all dos programs.
Is it possible you are having a conflict in Windows, or maybe something else is trying to get your com port.
That’s the best I can do. Good luck.

On older versions of windows, they ran just fine. I have the same problem in my lab with XP. I keep a couple of 486's (stop laughing) with 95 around to run dos based programs. Same problem with my Dms software.

If problems when starting remove the LOGO.PIC file from the folders.
Check other programs are not wanting to use the same com port.
In configuration set the printer to NONE.

The programs starts fine and most of time, the only program running. It randomly locks-up after I give a command. I can restart the program and usually finish what I was doing (but sometimes it takes 2 or more restarts).
Thanks, Tom

I missed your last line.
So went back and set the printers to none. Then ran each programs several times No lock-ups. Seems to do the trick

Try booting to disk and running like DOS.
I've never had it lock up. I use Windows XP and I often have many other programs running at the same time. It may be a problem with your operating system or dos subsystem. You may need to reinstall windows.
