It's easier to ask than hunt for the manual. What initiates the "Cool Fail" on the display of a Voyager Heat Pump's digital stat. Thanks, Ken

cool fail:

1. Cooling and/or heating set point (slide pots) on ZSM have failed.
2. Zone temperature thermistor ZTEMP on ZSM failed.
3. CC1 or CC2 24 VAC control circuit has opened.
4. CPR1 or CPR2 DISABLE circuit (LPC) opened, during 3 minute minimum ON time, on 4 consecutive compressor starts.
5. Open circuit on programmable sensor terminal 12 at LTB.

sorry, i missed the whole digital tstat thing.

if it only displays "COOL FAIL" then: No communication between terminals 11 and 12. Verify changing voltage.

most common problem for cool fail is LPC opening due to refrigerant circuit problem or defective LPC. verify circuit through LPC proper open and close pressures. test while system in heat, defrost & cool mode

Because it is a piece of junk Trane. I can wire a lock-out relay and it does the same ting as that piece of junk called Reliatel board. Enough bassing the brand - SORRY

Cool failed cause by:

Low pressure switch open 4 times with one call of cool.
Open coil or shorted coil of the contactor.
High pressure open one time.

They are all automatic reset. So take your pick.

My recommend is to check you double pole relay that energizes your outdoor fan. Either the board forget to send the 24 volt out or its point are not made.
