So, for people staying in St. Louis for Comfortech '07 is there an "approved" hotel? In other words Where will the partyin be? It's close to a 2 hour drive for us so we'll be staying overnight. Cardinals are out of town that week :( or that could be an awesome party!
The renisance is where one of the members/ speakers is staying. Waiting on info here as it is 2 hours the other way for me

I will be staying down South County, as we have an account with a hotel there, and I will just be driving into town for the show.

Looks like the Renaissance is the place to be.
I'm just trying to figure out what someone like me needs to pay to have access to the show and nightlife. I am used to working these shows and have never attended one without my representing a company before. Lisa and I are talking about making the show and staying for the weekend but aren't sure about how the costs are going to work when I don't attend seminars and Lisa is not that interested in the products.
Hell Robo it will be fun. HVAC people cant help it:cool:

RoBo,
To get into the Show Display Floor is FREE if you are not attending any of the seminars. There are packages where you cna just get Social passes, and show passes, check the Comfortech Website.
I usually just go for the show, and sometimes end up working a little in our sister company booths, so my show entry is free.

Thanks. I have worked so many of these types of shows for several different companies but have no idea what those not working them have to go through. I just pick up my distributor or speaker packets and go to work. I do however always enjoy walking the show and meeting with everyone at the nightly gatherings.
Lisa would probably enjoy walking the show...once:p . Then she would most likely tour the area while I stay at the show. She is always good with the social events though. She has become used to the fact that I seem to be working even when I am socializing. She knows better then to tell me to leave my work behind because I enjoy this stuff too much.

Yes she is a great person. But to be fair she really is not strange in comparison....... Take care

I for one would enjoy attending, Never been to any type of these conventions, cause I'm either on call or it's too far away for me to drive to. But in this case i'm maybe a 2-2.5 hr drive.
Would sure like to meet some of the folks from this site! Anyway I'll have to wait to see what the "work" schedule is like.

Forget waiting for work schedule, call in sick. Putting faces and seeing characteristics of other members really makes a difference when you get back on line with folks you have had a chance to whoop it up with.

If you stay downtown you will pay more.
There's a Redroof Inn right down 44 a few miles that maybe a little cheaper.
For some dining try the restaurant at the top of the millenium hotel. it revolves and gives you a nice view of the city. Another restaurant is Kemoll's at the top og the Met building. They have now started serving brunch on Sunday's. Both places are a little pricey but worth it.
If anyone has time check out The Landing, the Anheiser Busch tour(free beer at the end), and the St. Louis Zoo in Forest Park. It's free and is the best in the country.

Plus, I am pretty certain that all, if not most, of the moderating staff will be there, manning the HVAC-TALK booth. ;)

I work for a small mom/pop shop. Just me and boss doing service (mostly me ). We have an installer that fills in sometimes when we both need off. Him for fishing, me for car shows.
Robo you'r right though it would be good to place names with faces! I will be paying more attention to getting there as the date approaches!

You are correct, but there were a couple that kept disappearing around 7 or 8. ;)
Yep,
I admit that I was one, but, in my defense, I was just released from the hospital, and was on some serious pain killers...
But, we shall see this year........

As long as I keep up on my meds, I am allowed to release myself most anytime I want to:confused: (As long as I check in once in a while, they even let me stay out overnight.)

Try the Drury Plaza Hotel. About $ 85 a night. It is on Boadway and Market. There is a Days inn that is close also.

We've gotten some pretty good rates at decent places in St. Louis through priceline in the past, hopefully will again! We usually stay in the city when we go to concerts or ballgames etc. It's just easier that way.

Hope to see some of you around the show, I just recently found this site and it seems like a good bunch. There is plenty to do near the convention center, Lacledes Landing is within walking distance, local night spot bars and clubs, and there is currently one casino open and there is another one going up currently across the street form the "Ed Dome" that is attached to the conventioin center. Other than that several good restaurants and other things 6 or 8 blocks away. My wife says the Adams Mark is also a good hotel. I won't be staying down there as my house is about 45 min away:D

Well, if one of the locals wife likes the Adam's Hotel, I guess that's good enough for me. What's your wife's number?

Worked priceline for a couple of days (to get the 'best rate' ;) ) and finally got a pretty nice hotel for a GREAT rate. Anyone interested in doing the same can e-mail me and I'll let you know where and how much. It's a 3 star and we've got reservations for Thurs and Fri for just over $100 after fees and such. Going rate for this hotel starts at $149.00 a night according to their website.
I'll be there Sept 26-29 2007

My daughter's fall break is the week following Ctech. I don't think I can swing 3 weeks straight without working. Although, it would be nice. Hope 2008 works better for the schedule.

It is so great to see how many of you are interested in joining us this year. As ARPA has been saying, we'll once again have an HVAC-Talk booth in an IDEAL location and that would be a great place fo all us H-Talkers to gather and meet. We'll have HVAC-Talk t-shirts to give away (limited supply - first come-first serve) and we'll have the infamous pins there too.
I hope that all of you, whether you're just doing the trade show or the seminars, will come to the opening session on Thursday morning -- I plan on recognizing all the H-Talk folk in the audience. So if you already have an H-talk shirt - wear it. If you don't, make sure to stop by the H-talk booth Wednesday afternoon/night and get one and wear it so you can be SEEN!!!
And just so you all know -- Robo really did hang tough last year. I think he wore Benny down and that's why Benny is making so many excuses as to why he won't be there :D.
I look forward to finally meeting Senior Tech. I'll be the person wearing the Guy Falke mask.

I don't attend seminars
RoBo, you attend mine even if you aren't registered. I need bodies. Just don't snore too loud.
Oh yeah. We'll have the best party. I don't know what we're doing yet, but it will be better than anything else, including the one costing a gazillion dollars.

OK, just booked my room at the Mayfair so I shouldn't need a car while I am there.

Shopping for airfare can do well at times. I just got a round trip ticket for direct flights to and from Comfortech for $218 total cost. I need to stay till Saturday for this fare but that just means I get an extra day at Comfortech and the difference in airfare cost pays for my extra night.
