Does anyone know the codes to reset a Honeywell Chronotherm 3 thermostat to the original factory settings? I cannot find it in the owners manual. Thank you.

I did a little research on this one, and I don't know if it's possible to do that on this one. Some thermostats came out with a little pushbutton that resets every thing to factory specs. If you have the installation manual, it usually gives more info than the users manual. Can't find install manual on internet. If I recall, removing the batteries and removing power from the thermostat, i.e. shutting off breaker to heater should cause it to go back to factory settings. If it calls for reprogramming, then it is reset.

I have the chronotherm IV connected to my heat pump system and needed to re-do some of the settings, but had no manual. Went to Honeywell's website and found the installation manual. You'll need the model number off of the t-stat to download the manual. Look for the installer's set-up section. The directions are there but if you are unfamiliar with your system's configuration you may be doing more harm than good by changing these parameters.
Take the t-stat off the wall and remove the batteries for a couple of minutes. That should in theory do it.

I removed the batteries (for 2 hours) then reinserted them into the t-stat and it did not re-set. Then I put the batteries in backwards and it did not re-set the t-stat either. Also, there is no re-set button. Any other ideas? Thanks.

http://yourhome.honeywell.com/Consumer/Cultures/en-US/Products/Thermostats/Programmable/Do-It-Yourself/Default.htm
box on the right says "Literature and Manual Search"
click the drop down menu to select the type of literature you are looking for.
enter the model # of your thermostat then click the little arrow
select your t-stat and download the corresponding .pdf file

The t-stat worked great until the furnance guy cleaned the furnace. I don't use the programmable features. I just use the manual HOLD TEMP feature. I press the WARMER or COOLER buttons and the HOLD TEMP button and it worked great. The furnance guy cleaned my furnace and now after I go through the manual setting process just described and press the HOLD TEMP button, it holds the temp I selected for a few minutes and then tries to go through the programmable modes, WAKE, SLEEP, etc. even though I cleared the modes to zero. I was told I needed to reset the t-stat to their original factory settings to clear out the system so to speak.
