Spotts,
You're doing the right thing. Too many times I've seen the old ones abandoned by those they raised.
Good for you.:)

I've been taking my mother and father back and forth to and from the hospital for the past 2 yrs. Mom had a quadruple by-pass, dad had an aneurysm removed in his abdomen, now they found one by his heart, he has a leaky aortic valve, and he also needs a triple bypass. I know some of these doctors and nurses by their first names and they do mine. Just be glad he's still alive and kickin. I try and do as much as I can, I want to see them around a while longer.
They have the tools and technology nowadays to keep them vertical a bit longer. :D
Hope all goes well. I'll be thinking of you, brother.

Good luck, Spotts. My uncle went through that about 10 years ago.
Seen this post and had to respond. Hope your dad does well spotty which Im sure he will. My dad [god rest his rotten soul] had pollups removed when he was 74. Never been to the hospital. Docs told him to check back in , he never did, he said nobody is going to stick anything, blah, blah, blah. When he turned 79 he had to go to the doc. THey found a mass, about 8" in his behind. Also found cancer in his stomach, long story short he [we] should drop the mucho thing and get checked regularly. He was a horrible, abusive man but Its funny I still miss him. nuff said

Grandpa has had 3 surgeries and one set of radiation treatments over the last 15 to 20 years to combat prostate cancer. He'll be 80 in April. If you get checked and treat things early, you can beat it easily.

Those last 2 stories are the most important. They say EVERY man will get prostate cancer if he lives long enough. The test for it is a simple blood test called a PSA Test. Every man should get one every year.

Yep. There's more to my family story. Every man from my greatgrandfather's generation died of cancer except for one. The booze got him before the cancer. That's six men including my greatgrandfather.
My grandfather was smart enough to recognize this trend. My uncle (his son) hasn't had any signs yet. I started testing this year at age 35. It's early, but the doctor recommended it because of my family history.
I believe that it's recommended to get the PSA test at 40 or 45 if you don't have a family history of prostate cancer.

Grandpa and Dad have both had it. Doc wants me to get tested 2wice a year. He said "You dont want to get this a month after a clean test, then not get tested again for 11 more months while it's growing" I told him, "Lets just cut it out now" but he didn't think that was a good idea.

Thanx for the call Jerry. Very nice of ya, sorry I couldn't chat long. I hate driving in Denver. [unless I'm driving to a titty bar]

My father had prostate cancer 6 years ago. He has been cancer free since his surgery. He never went to the doctor, but went for my mom as a birthday present. Luckily, while there they caught it. Prostate cancer when caught early can be treatable.
Good luck to you and your family during this time.

This black guy that I work with was complaining about his prostrates. I asked him, "How many do you have"? I still have my PSA test to do . No finger wave. Just a little bowel from the tissue paper on to a disc. Then to the doctors office. Spotts, you are a good man for taking care of Dad.

Naw, it doesnt wistle for sure. He is farting alot and we all have heard it. He says it hurts like hell to have gas build up, so he farts like every minute.
I got my PSA tested today. Fag doc wanted to do a digital rectal exam BAD! I told him no. Not untill I get a high PSA and there is a reason. There should be chick doctors for things like that........http://www.sonografie.ws/images/woman_doctor.jpg That would be much easier to "take".
