I have a dual stage Trane HP XL19i and a variable speed air handler. I live in AZ with winter lows in the 30's. In these conditions, I can't get more than 20 degrees difference (second stage) between the air going in and coming out. I keep my tstat at 73 (70F in- 90F out). I can get to 96 when is warmer outside. The technician tells me it seems correct. Any opinion ?
thx

with a heat pump the warmer outside it is the warmer the output of air will be due to the fact that the outside air is giving up more heat at 70 vs 32 degrees, as far at the twenty degree delta T that is not uncommon on some heat pump systems.

I work in maryland, which has plenty of 30 degree days and and i usually pull 90+ supply air without a call for w2. with stage 2 at least 110+. sounds like you might have a problem with your electric backup.

Does it maintain your thermostat setting?
