Wehave a site with existing CCN cintrolers and pilots
At present we use the carrier modems to dial in

The company is proposing placing five of their

CCN sites on their intrnet so that people can

access the CCN through the internet

What hardware and software would be required to provide the

neccessary architecture
Thank You very much

There are salespeople on Friday that are going to

offer us Carrier products to hook up our sites to the internet

They want to do a demo.

Am I safe in saying that the CCN Web is the only basic hardware we will need at each site ?

Will we need extra software in addition to our Comfortview??

Thank you very much

go to http://www.commercial.carrier.com/commercial/hvac/product_description/0,3059,CLI1_DIV12_ETI434_PRD1110,00.html?SMSESSION =NO

and click on the demo site .... http://70.88.46.110/login.ssi

we use'em alot. you must configure the device (element and bus number) with comfortview and simply connect it to the ccn bus. i would recommend buying the power adapter with the ccnweb device. several have fryed with the 24 volts we supplied. no additional hardware, software on the bus. you simply login to the box through a web browser and click on the scan devices link. it will find all device on the local bus - don't know what it will do across a bridge.

If you want to do any configuration changes, such as adding/deleting points, adding/deleting algorithms, or write any BEST, then you WILL need software such as ComfortView or Service Tool.

If you only need to view/maintain and service the existing Carrier system, then the CCNWEB will do the job without the need for any software other than your web browser. You can still make new Graphic screens as well.

If you need to do any data collection for energy management, or any other trending, you will need ComfortView (local ar dial up) or I-VU (local, intranet, internet etc).

We already have Comfortview installed.

Essentially we will just connect a patch cable from our router

into the CCNWeb Module and we should be able to connect to the internet

1) I gather we will use Comfortview at each site

to configure the CCNWeb module with a public IP address

How much are you prepared to spend on the graphics $$$$$.

Graphics can be made as impressive as you want, and remember the demo site is purely a sales tool just to get you hooked.

So yes Comfortview will do them provided you are prepared to open your wallet, and in reality, can the expense be justified.

Pretty pictures don't make a system work any better!

Yes, WorkSpace Manager that ships with ComfortView allows you to setup graphics for your site.

I am suprised at how many sites I see that dont use it, but then it again it takes time/$$$$ to setup the graphics.
