How is Tridium dealing with this? Have you hooked up to a Jace put in by someone else? Does your name have to be in the Jace? Is there a charge to liscence my laptop for a Jaec someone else put it or an FX40?

I use HW Webs Workbench, and have logged into every HW/VYKON/FX40 I have tried to with no problems. AX does not use the same licensing as they did with R2.

The license file is still the key as to whether you will be able to connect or not. In lieu of the old licensing methods of R2 AX uses what is called a nics statement. In the nics statement the owner of the JACE has the ability to restrict Workbench access to only approved Brand ID's. Therefore the ability to connect is determined by the installer. Most integrators will leave the nics statement open for anyone to connect while OEM manufacturers may lock the nics statement down to only qualified installers.
