Seriously, I remember seeing an article about research on a cow's digestion process was being done this way, the researchers could take smaples a various stages of the process by this means. Yuk!

Here in Wildcat Land, there are a bunch of those cows with a window! Large vet center here.

Wasn't there a movie about these cows a couple of years ago? Cow with a View.

mylanta asked: "Is 'smaples' a Canadian term?" Yes, it's short for "sweet maple syrup", they put the maple syrup in the cow to see how it can make better tasting milk. Yummy!

It is one of those hidden home-safes, like they have in books, or they have in cans of pop. What criminal would ever think of looking for looking for your wife's jewels inside a heifer?

These cows were on Ripley's Believe It or Not. The farmer had a whole heard of them. It was for checking how their digestion was working. A vet would cut the hole in the cow and then put a removable plug in the hole.

I guess that farmer had a herd of hole-steins?
