Anyone out there who currently works for Georgia Trane, or who has worked for them in the past. I'm curious, I see their trucks all over Atlanta, and they have a job posted on hvacjobs.com all the time. Do they have a high turnover rate, or do they just have a hard time finding good people? Do they send their techs to their schools? Is it all warranty work or do they do all service work like a normal mech. contractor. Thanks in advance for any input. What's it like working for a manufacturer, especially one that big?

for them once in another state, they had contracts on different bldg's and they give you certain conracts to keep up with, and some break down calls, but it isnt like working for an contractor. I turned down an offer from KY trane after their field super started making comments about his own workers, simple stuff about shirt tails out, ... to they could find tech smart enough to work on their equipment, they offered an good salary but it felt worse than my military days as too uniforms, appearance, beards, haircuts, etc. maybe GA isnt this way I dont know, but they cover north ga as well as Atlanta, and the rest of the state

I think Trane is a good outfit to work for, it's not a mom and pop shop, they are well organized and they give their techs all kinds of training. Also it's alot more lay back then other companies. True they want you to be neat and clean cut, but that is their way to emit some professionalism. My best friend works for Trane NY and he loves it. Also they have the service contract in building over 100 package SWUD units and all the majority of the guys like working for Trane. I really don't think you can go wrong with them.

some Trane service groups give out bonuses($1000)to techs who bring guys into the company, and they usually hook up on the start-ups and sell Trane to them.it is a "can do" company with total factory support with the equipment your on.if you have a good attitude and like the interaction of customers and installers and start-ups, put your resume in and you will never look back or regret it.if your strong with breakdowns and troubleshooting they will grab you in a minute for the commercial 450 ton tonnages and down, especially if your organized to do multipul unit startups and interactwith the fast track of new construction.

A little off of the subject but if you are interested in working for an OEM , McQuay in Atlanta is hiring .
