I have seen all types of humidifiers on gas furnaces.
My question is .....
On a airhandler with electric heat strips ...can you install ahumidifier and where???
water and electricity dont mix I have been told!

Regular evaporative humidifiers don't work very well with heat pumps due to the low discharge air temperatures.
If you need humidification with a heat pump, a steam humidifier is the way to go.

yep, steam type for sure. but that humidifier must be installed in a conditioned space, right?

Do a search on humidifiers. I've had a flow thru Aprilaire 600 on for years now, on a heat pump and it works great. Make sure you tap hot water and it will work fine. Steams great if you want 50% humidity in your home. What about 2 stage gas furnaces? They don't have high discharge temps either. If your heat pump is sized properly you won't have any problem reaching 35%. My 2 sense. Later!

2 stage furnaces have a similar discharge temp on low fire as on high fire because they run lower airflow in 1st stage than in 2nd stage.
