Automatic vent damper for Weil-McLain boiler?

My house currently has a Weil-McLain boiler, model CGM-6-PI. It has an automatic vent damper that was installed in 1991, but that is sticking in the closed position (I can get it to open by giving it a little jiggle or tap, but it's not a sustainable situation). Think I need to replace the automatic vent damper, but am trying to figure our what models are compatible. If anyone has any suggestions and information, I would appreciate it. Also, can this be a DIY job for someone moderately handy? Though I generally don't mess at all where gas and the boiler are involved, provided I have the right part and wiring harness, this doesn't look like it ought to be overly difficult.

Chuck the automatic vent damper & get a contractor trained in CO/Combustion diagnostics to install a barometric damper.

It will work better & be much safer than the automatic type.

Would not think it would be needed as the pressure drop of the heat exchanger would have to be accounted for with the addition of a barometric.

Might run the possibility of nuisance tripping a spill switch if it is equipped with an automatic damper as well.

Barometrics I trust, automatic type dampers I don't.
