Consider 1and1.com while you are at it. I use them. Domain, hosting, software, etc. and pretty cheap. They are the easiest I have used of several domains and a couple of hosts I use.

Did you ever hear the one about carefully choosing your domain name?

Excellent service, good uptime. I had 1and1 for a while and they were terrible. Been on Hostgator for 6 months with no problems. They are very highly rated and used by alot of resellers. http://www.hostgator.com/

My personal and the company sites are both with 1and1. Can't beat the price. They are both pretty simple but I've had no trouble. Yahoo is rather salty $$. What kind of problems did you see with 1and 1?

I use www.dreamhost.com

Couldn't ask for better service, a ton of features, tons of space, reasonable price.

We use Godaddy for domain and hosting, very good pricing and user friendly controls...although you may want to import your own template, but most people do that regardless of the host.

Dave:

netfirms.ca....

Free search, and under $10.00 registration, Hosting packages look resonable too.

well i have a list of domain names i have ran through over the last week and none of them have my name in it. the reason for that is i hate the fact that when i started my business i named it dave's heating and cooling

i hope to change the name and have been working on that for a while, but everytime i find a name that i really love it is already taken. i dont want to change the name to anything that is just ok, i want something that i really like

as far as someone to host it cost is a lot less important then having good service and ease of use i also want something that has the ability to have email built into it
i will look into the hosts that everyone mentioned over the next day or 2 and want to thank everyone for their suggestions
