Look on the blue bar, click on HVAC Calc. Been using it for couple years now. Can't go wrong. You can also search load calc on here, give you some other points of view.

HVAC-Calc is the bomb. Easy or detailed as you want it to be. Damn east to use, and when you buy it, you get the guys phone# who wrote it. I've used it every single day for years. Buy commercial and resi. Both very handy for their differences. A+ I bought 3 before that I couldn't run.

Program selection depends on your specific needs. PRO or homeowner?
Evaluate which modules suit your needs. Reasonably priced is relative to ones need and considerations of the time savings for a professional.

Wrightsoft RSR is very convenient to use with ACAD interaction, complete with Manual D duct sizing and equipment selection options from all manufacturers.

8th edition, appendices ( AED ?), FLA-J link, orientation capability and use of templates are priceless in addressing Florida requirements.

Thanks for all the advise. I decided to go with Wrightsoft, because of their excellent customer service and overall value. Unlike Elite, they were willing to offer a "HVAC dealer" discount, which saved me $700 - $800 on five programs. The person I spoke with at Elite was not only arrogant, but unwilling to provide detailed information about their products.

Good plan... I've been using Wrightsoft for 6 yrs and easy to use. Anytime I've called for support they have always called back and very helpfull, all with no extra charges. I have all the modules except for quote.

I was able to download the full version of it to use right away. Don sent the CD and book to me via mail, but it only took a week.
