As I metioned earlier, there a tons of "new" things that can be added to the new site software.
But:
Bugs have to be worked out of what we have now.

As also mentioned earlier, the additoin of the avatars is a test as just one of the new things.
We still have some members thinking that what they post is a joke, porn avatars and such, but it is not a joke to the site owners.

I have never understood why a PRO would want to hide behind the "Dark cloud of anonymity"

I have everything I can think of listed.

I have, in the past year, gotton 4 nice jobs off of members or someone seeing this site.
I have also had the benefit of helping out members and their family, because of this site.
I have called and given jobs to a couple of dozen contractors that I have meant on this site, for other companies that I operate and run.

If there is no way to contact you, hmm....

Things like have been and are being discussed amognst the site owners, so we will see.

I really don't see where PRIVATE MESSAGING would be a problem. Its really convenient and you can always chose to ignore someone. If someone sends PM's that are out of line its right there in print for the mods to take any corrective action needed.
All the other forums I've seen with this software have it enabled, I don't understand the paranoia. Every body here are semi-professional adults.

LOL... the Admin said he would DELETE the account. I don't think that Admin has been that busy.

I know Admin is busy fixing bad email addresses. When you have a bad email address you get locked out. :D:D


PM... Don didn't like PM's. He said and I quote "it will encourage clicks". So if there are no PM's you must do what the site is intended for. Post. Instead of a one to one PM you have to post one to many and others won't suffer from the missed information which could help others increase their knowledge base.

Don't look for PM's to pop up on the site.

I agree ARPA. Ive included my info not for getting work and such but just to open up the lines of communication between members. I find it interesting when I see how many SC guys are here on the site and it would be kinda nice to set up an HVAC-Talk SC chapter and get to meet with each other once in a while. Not to mention that Ive seen a few folks on here from my old stomping grounds and it would be wonderful to talk to them and see how the place has changed or whatever.

Of course its always nice to talk to fellow members here just to discuss HVAC also...
