Lennox...what a joke. I use to think they were one of the best companies..till they starting making me call Dallas or somewhere to see if a part was available 20 miles from me.

Now, I've been trying to get a defrost board for a week now. Called the number they give all of us and I have to put in my account number. I don't have an account number. So the electronic voice says I can order very easily on line. Do that and still have to have an account number.

So, madder than a wet hornet, I call the toll free number again and press as many 0's as I can (trick taught me by a local service rep) so I can finally get a real person.

Get the real person & chew his ear off about being a everyday contractor and the work it takes to get a Lennox part. He agrees! Anyway, I order the defrost board & sensor and it shows up right away. But the sensor is the wrong one. And he is the factory rep and looked it up!

I have no choice but to drive 30 miles to the local Lennox parts place to pick up this little sensor cause there is no other way to do it.

Takes 30 minutes to change both parts but takes days to find a way just to order common ordinary parts.

What a waste of time. Around here York is the same way.

When did some HVAC manufacturers companies start looking at customers (HVAC contractors) as an enemy and not an asset?

Johnstone has access to Lennox commercial parts. For residential, I buy through a 3rd party. Adds to the cost of the product but the service is great.

Thanks Loonie
I actually was in the process of ordering the same board from Johnstone but they did not have the sensor.

Sometimes I think I am the only one that has these types of problems. When I go to get parts for any Yorks around here the counter guys tell me they don't recognize me as one of their "York" guys so I walk upstairs to the manager or owner (believe me, I know the way) of the wholesaler and make my thought known. I always get my parts but why do the owners/managers have such stupid policies? Don't they realize I represent their paychecks?

Back in the 60's and 70's I could walk into Carrier and get most anything I needed. They mainly were concerned that you had experience, knew what you were doing and had a business license.

Now it seems with a lot of the considered "elite" systems you have to be a good olde boy.

If anyone wants the number where I order Lennox parts from, e-mail me. It costs $$, about like Johnstone, but they are very efficient and handle warranties too.

Loonie my ongoing Lennox part thingie is still going on. Lennox sent me the right defrost board but the wrong sensor. The local Lennox parts store has no info! I'd appreciate any parts supplier you have but don't have the slightest idea how to email you. My Email is on my profile. Thanks
