Milwaukee M12 tools have been good to me.

I can't say that I've got small hands, though.

I don't know if Milwaukee has this deal in the US, but up here, if you trade in your old stuff they give you $100 off most of their packages.
I got 18v impact, hammer drill and sawzall and 3 batteries for $350 CDN

Milwaukee makes good tools but... I don't need a big honking 5 pound, 18 volt, triple gear reduction drill. I switched over to a Bosh last year and love it. The Milwaukee or Bosch are not cheap but you get what you pay for.

+1 They look a lot like my 3 year old Boschs. I carry the screw driver (non-impact) in my Veto bag because I hate removing multiple screws for unit covers by hand. It is light and powerful. And I LOVE having a light on the drill.

Bosch 12v drill/driver and impact combo. I have one in my indoor bag and one in my outdoor bag. I do residential work and don't like dragging mud and mulch into peoples homes so I have two bags. these are great tools and get used more than than any other hand tool I have probably.

I like the Bosh, but the handle is too "FAT" for my hands

I never noticed but the handle on my 18v Milwaukee is smaller than the handle on my compact drill. I've had the Milwaukee for over a year and I like it a lot.

As you can see the compact craftsman drill, the veto bag and everything in it are like brand new. I've only had it for a few months. I like it a lot so far, its been working pretty good. I carry the compact drill it in my bag and use it to take panels off and drill holes, and I leave my 18v Milwaukee impact driver and drill in my van most the time.

The grip is nearly identical in feel to the one on the compact DeWalt but the head is more compact. Lifetime warranty. If mine ever quits, which it shows no signs of doing, I'll get another in a heartbeat. I've worn the rubber off of this drill in places and it still works like new. The batteries are also still the originals with no signs of fade at this time, with several years of service on it so far. I can't say enough about this drill.

Ridgid 18V Impact and Drill Combo. (http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=203266851&storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&ci_sku=203266851&ci_kw=%7bkeyword%7d&kwd=%7bkeyword%7d&cm_mmc=shopping-_-googleads-_-pla-_-203266851&ci_gpa=pla#.UPMs929MJBB)

Mainly, I just use the impact. I had a Dewalt 18V before this and this is about equal in power with somewhat longer battery life. Plus the push button battery level meter is nice.

Fav for svc work is the Dewalt 12v impact (the one with 5/16 bit) can keep up with big drills and easy filt in bags346351346361, handle not as thick as the bosch 12v and the Dewalt has a belt clip, rarely use Dewalt 20v, Milwaukee kept in garage and Bosch on personal truck, I've replaced 12 volt batteries on Milwaukee but never on others. I'm somewhat of a tool horder.

I use the porter cable 12v lithium for service and porter cable 18v lithium (I bought the 18v combo, drill, sawzall, circular and flashlight) for installs.

If I have to grab one real quick, its always the12v, I just love that thing!

Also I can't say enough good about the porter cables, dollar for dollar I'm very happy =)

I like Rigid.
No impact, compact, high RPM, lots of torque. Has a chuck so I can use my step bit as well.

Most of the compact drills will have a fatter grip, that's where the battery has to go.

I run a Dewalt 14.4V. I bought it years ago, maybe 6? I looked at the new ones and they are half the size of my old one and half the weight on the Lithium models. Ive drop mine repeatedly onto concrete floors from 16 ft ladders and the battery flies off but I cant kill it!! Ive had bad luck with Hitachi and Ryobi. Milwaukee is top notch as well..

I use the 18V black/white Milwaukee drill and impact. A bit lighter than the green 18V, yet more than enough power to do service and install work. It is a bit tight stuffed into my VETO though.

I think you mint Makita... I just got the 3 speed brushless makita impact drill, it's sweet. Finally drained a battery after a month and a half. Also has the battery indicator on it.

Bosch PS21 all the way.
It will even run a 1 1/8" paddle bit through doubled up wall studs.

It is a nice fit in my tool bag too.
