I have a Barber Colman network 8000 system that I'm trying to integrate with a Tridium AX JACE and I'm having a hard time getting the ASD bus driver from Tridium. When we did this project in 1997 we had a purchasing agreement with then Siebe saying that they had to support us and train us on the network 8000 system and that they couldn't solicit our customer has long as we were servicing them. Since than Siebe became Invensys and their not honoring our agreement. I found the driver on the cappusa.com but not sure if it will work with the AX JACE. Has anyone had any experience with using this driver with a AX JACE? I would appreciate any help I can get for this.

There is no ASD driver for the AX platform. It appears that Tridium (and TAC consequently) is only making LON, BACnet, and Modbus drivers for the AX platform. There is also the Obix driver, which Tridium hasn't officially released yet. They seem to be banking on the Obix driver for integrating R2 Jaces into the AX platform. You'll need an R2 UNC from TAC licensed with the ASD driver, and then use the Obix driver to export the points to an AX supervisor. Or you can export the points from R2 via BACnet into an AX Jace.

Enflex,Richard Zeta,JCI all have devices that talk to the ASD and then pull the data in under the Niagara framework.
All the above listed are stable devices we have used

There is a third party ASD AX driver availiable. Contact your Tridium distributor.
If they don't know about it ask them to contact Tridium for a contact person.

The old one won't do you much good anyway as it had some pretty bad communication flaws, it will be tough to get that new driver and you will need to be running 514 or higher to in order to accommodate it.
May have had better luck installing a GCM and getting the GCM/Serial driver.Either one would need the proper licensing though.
The whole idea was to keep the proprietary protocols proprietary and the open ones open, like LON and Bacnet, but open doesn't mean giving up your old proprietary protocols, so you may be out of luck. unless you have the job done by an Invensys (TAC) Rep, as you should.

I contacted Tridium and the next day I got a call from Invensys (TAC). I know Tridium has the ASD driver but they can't sell it.

They have the ASD driver for AX? What you could do is hire them to come out and install the driver on your Jace. Once it's on there it's yours.

Did you ever find a driver to communicate to the ASD bus? I have a campus that has hundreds of the Microzone controllers communicating to GCMs throughout the campus, then to a wonderware system that keeps failing.
They would like to upgrade the frontend to Tridium AX like a bunch of the other building that we did, but they really don't want to rip out all of the Microzone controllers if they don't have to.

An ASD driver for AX is supposed to release this year. TAC hasn't said when or how much yet.

We’re dealing with a company Richard-Zeta to resolve this problem. We are not finished with the project yet, so I can’t comment on the outcome. We hope to either use the Richard-Zeta Mediator to serve up web page graphics or import the Mediator data into a Tridium web supervisor as a station.
Our contact at Richard-Zeta is:

The Richards-Zeta Mediator works, but i've only used it with Johnson to Bacnet . The update times are rather slow, but it's 100% stable and reliable.
I've done large jobs with the ALC Webzone. Plugs right into the microzone card and even works on the same bus wire. The only problem is you have to remove any Pems, Microflows, Micronets, and the GCM.

Check out www.csicubed.com
There is a driver available to integrate your GCM to Niagara AX (even through ethernet!). This is not an ASD bus driver, but is quick and works well - you must still have your GCM(s).
