I worked around two plant managers who served on her. the first was during ww2 and the seond korea. they never stopped talking about her .

I'm not sure the Intrepid qualifies as a small carrier though. The Intrepid is an Essex Class carrier which for all intents and purposes was the largest US fleet carrier of WWII. The Coral Sea was actually of the Midway class, the first of which was not commissioned until late 1945, and of course the Enterprise is a modern fleet carrier. So, for it's time, it was quite large.

some VETS were on her when they pulled her out for the re-fit move.that would be cool if those guys could get on her for the trip back up for her 2008 return their ships association should hook them up if they will be around.

The vets would love to talk to you when you were on the ship. I had the opportunity to speak to several who served on her. One guy was there for the Kamakazi Attacks.
