What is your favorite App for iphone/ipad for use in the field?

Curious as to what iphone/ipad applications people are using in the field. There seems to be quite a few reference apps available. Calculating duct sizes, PT charts, air velocity calculators, heat load calculators and many more.
What app do you find helpful? What app would you recommend every technician or sales person have on their mobile device?

A PDF reader loaded with manuals and the bitzer refrigerant app are musts.

bitzer is a nice app to have, Metrics conversion is also helpful

haven't found anything else worth my time.

with google and pdf can find what i need without paying for it.

and, with adobe, can download PT chart off google and have pt chart handy without paying for a pt app

I have a fair bit on my phone...
Adobe pdf reader.
Camscanner+, this is awfully handy, you can take a picture of a form, and it turns it into a pdf image, so you can email it as something better than a picture.
KeleCalc is awesome for converting units from one to another.
Siemens eAssistance is kinda cool too, you can scan the barcode, or model number off of a siemens contactor and get information on it.
LorenCook has their engineer's handbook out too... some useful once and a while info in there.

I have most of the Danfoss apps, only really use the refrigerant slider though.
Bell & Gossett has a product app that's not too bad if you deal with their pumps a lot, Taco has one too.

I have a knot app too, cuz I SUCK at tying knot's.
Hill Climb Racer... great app to finish off lunch time! lol

I use blitzers on a regular basis. I also use coplands X-Ref a lot. Its useful for getting info on copeland compressors like nameplate data and replacement options. I also use dewalt mobile pro a lot. Its a construction calculator and a conversion app all in one. I also use the iHandy level a lot because it seems like I never have a level near by when I need it. I use Convert Units for exactly as it sounds. Thats the best conversion app I have found. I use the internet on my phone at least 30 times a day, anything I dont have on my phone is on the internet. I use HVACBuddy during the summer. It is also the only app I have paid for. Its a useful tool to document reading but for the most part no app will replace skill and knowledge.

Which knot app you have??? The best one I have seen is "animated knots by Grog".

The Bitzer PT app is a good one. Free.

iBooks is great for storing various manuals. Free

Munters put out a good Psychrometric app. Free

I have that one, and also have KG Free, and 3D knots.
It's amazing how the human mind works (or doesn't). there are really complex things I could tell a 3rd grader to do over the phone and fix a chiller, but yet knot tying just slides right out of my mind lol

I have pulled down and checked out most of the PT Chart apps I can find. Emerson's "PT Pro" is pretty good and easy to use. Most of them are the same in that they are easy and accurate and simple but not much better than that old card that everyone should have in their pocket.

I have been looking at them also and not too impressed with what I have found so far.

Dupont's PT Calc is a good one to have on hand. FREE too.

Bitzer refrigerant of pt chart, Dropbox for storing all those manuals and videos on equipment.

PDF reader, to read those manuals on pesky equipment.

Cam scanner, for scanning receipts and sending them back to the office for billing.

I use the dupont PT calc and ibooks. PDF management is essential. Thats all I use my ipad for.. so my manuals don't take up all my cab space.

My most used HVAC related app is HVAC Buddy, for target superheat and target evaporator temperature drop(aka Target Evaporator Exit Temperature).

I am going to be doing an update to include some newer refrigerants like MO99 and R427A later this year so may go ahead and add the TEET into the calculator at that time.

I gave it a half a$$ed effort about 8 months ago. Tried to find or make a math formula for it but was unsuccessful.

Seems we will need to input the chart and then pull averages out of it for 1 degree increments.

Not unless someone has a formula for it and would like to share.

I know it can be done though with the chart. :putergreet:
