We need some help with a noise issue with a Carrier 58-MTB060-12 two stage two speed house furnace.
The furnace was installed about a month ago. After a normal startup, no noise, and no issues, the "fussy" customer called a week later with a noise issue. The two speed venter motor was making a very low rumble on low speed only - everything seemed normal, but you could hear the "rumble" upstairs and the customer stated the cat did not eat for several days due to the noise.
After contacting the local Carrier tech support, we tried a new venter assembly. The noise went away and the customer was satisified until a week later when the noise returned. After checking the furnace again, everything seems fine, but there is still a slight rumble on low speed. The factory guys are drawing a blank on this problem.
Any ideas?
We may have to change the furnace to another brand, if we can't fix this apparent factory issue. The customer is being "picky", but the noise does exist on low fire.
