Hi all,

I have a question. I just moved into our new house and we have heating as "forced air heating" and regular plints. Near the forced air Honeywell furnace, there is an oily mechanism called the "Model M904E Modutrol Motor". It is quite oily and I don't know if I can just disconnectit becuase I don't know if it does anything. How would I know?

Please help.

THanks,
jj

Now you know what a Modutrol motor does. The next think you can do is post some helpful information then someone MIGHT want to help you.

Something usefull might be:

The make and model of the furnace. About how old it is.

Where the thingy (technical term) might be located. Return plenum, supply plenum, bypass damper (between supply and returns) I don't know, somewhere else?

Does it look like it was part of the furnace?

Does the house have zoning?

It's really not a good idea to just disconnect things. They are there for a reason if installed properly.

A SWAG (Scientific Wiled Asses Guess) a motor for moving the bypass damper to control static pressure but the motor COULD be used for other purposes.

I can easily reply to "Anybody in this topic?" with "Where is the useful information?" but I didn't.
