Hello All!
I'm curious to know if anyone has ever heard of Electronic Environments? This is a link to their website http://www.eecnet.com/
I guess they could be summed up with the following - "Since 1986, EEC has been focused solely on designing, building, and servicing mission critical facilities supporting the IT and Telecom industries."
They are looking for techs in my area, mostly for servicing A/C at cell tower sites.
Has anyone out there ever worked for them or done business with them?

Was suprised to see someone mention eec on this website...
ive worked with the install team for about 3yrs on and off as im still in school (tri-county reg voc).
service on these cell sites will bring you just about anywhere in the northeast, (mostly wall-mounted package units) the company has a large contract with a major telecom company throughout the U.S. among other other large accounts for IT/infastructure
Anything in particular that you wanted to know?
Sounds like a boring job with lots of travel.

I recently had an interview with them. The job sounds interesting and they seemed impressed, but I'm waiting for a firm offer. How are they to work for? Do you know (ballpark) what they are paying techs in your area? What about job advancement? I've heard the pitch from the Manager, but I'd like to get some feedback from someone in the field.

I'm located in northeast PA. Interview was with a gentleman by the name of Sanders, position was HVAC Technician.
9 years is a while. Must not be too bad a company. Where are you located, and why r u so concerned w/ who did the interview?
Because I've never heard of them before, and I'm not familiar w/ anyone who works for them, it would be nice to have some insight as to what kind of company they are to work for and how they treat their employees before I consider any offer they might present.

I'm located up in Ma. Area were the Headquaters of company is located,Just curious if you were interviewing for a position up here or elsewhere, I pretty much know all up is this area. Very stable company. Actually we had sent guys down that way during its start up time period. that area is growing very well for the company.
Just curious about postion, depending on region we have different techs,ie. In ma. due to volume we have designated HVAc cell site technicians who take care of well the cell site equipment which as you probably got hte jist in your interview are from usually 3 to 5 ton units.
Wall mount Bards, Marvair, Sun, and Liebert units nad then the usual splits, Carrire, york, Bryant etc..
Thyen we have a seperate division of HVac tech suchj as myself that deal with the Data center equipment. usaully 5 to 30 ton lieberts, STulz Data Aire units and Trane chillers Carrier chillers and all the small stuff as well. Up in MA. 10 tons or over youneed Refrigeration lIcense and under you don't so we can seperate guys that way. THe bennifits are pretty good with sick time ersonnel time and vaca.
Idtarted out in install yrs ago went to cell sites and then onto Data center. We have our own electricians, construction install guys and generator guys along with ups , battery techs. WE due quite a bit of work.
Nice no attics at 140 degrees in summer, no moldy basements. A lot of independence,no one over your shoulder.
THey have come a long way since I started with them.
I can only speak to this area but it is a good place to work. Like I said we sent some guys down their and I hadn't heard any complants about management!
Hope this helps with your desicsion.

kpaul,
Thanks for the info. Definitely makes things easier.
Do you know if EEC does any data center work in the NE PA area? I've got an extensive background and am always looking for a challenge. I guess what I'm asking is, aside from cell sites is there anything in my area that I might be able to move up to, as you did.
Again, I appreciate the info.

trblshuter,
Well the cell carriers not only have the cell sites but they also have switches that the cells report to an dat the switches they are more set up with Data center Equipment, so you would find bigger stuff thier ie.. Lieberts Glycol sytems. Also Sales are continually working to add the Data ctr sites in all the regions not just up in Ma. area. So i woulod imagine they will be adding more as it goes. But I can follow up on that.
pretty cool stuff though. Even when I starte out in the cell stuff it was cool. We havee our opwn 4 wheelers and snow mobiles up here for sites we need to get to. I don't get to play on those anymore, misss that.
But the cell tech get a 4 wheeel drive f250 with utility body. Not a ba gig. But I'm sure the Data stuff is their and if not certainly will continue to be added.
