The definition of The Perfect Breakfast:

Sitting at the table, looking at your Wheaties box..... a picture of your kid on the front holding a medal.

Looking at the magazine on the table, you see your girlfriend... the supermodel on the cover.

Looking at the milk carton..... seeing a picture of your wife!

(HEHE... no wonder i'm still single)

OK Collin. Have you by any chance seen "South Park the Movie"? You are coming real close to an international incident now, two attacks on two different fronts is not coincidental, it's vicious.

I hereby demand a retraction of good, clean Canadian living flaunted in the face of overeating, underexercising Americans everywhere. You can start by showing a picture of some Canadian homeless or something.

A temp of -40 means no bums living in the park and no cockroaches.(we don't consider Victoria to really be representative of Canada):)

RoBoTeq
03-24-2002, 09:59 PM
I see how it is, bringing in reinforcements already. I see we may have an ally in Victoria. We can ship our homeless up to Canada you know. You guys (not gee's) don't pay attention to who is coming in and we won't let them back out.

Alright, forget the bums. I want to see the slums of your cities. The hookers and drug dealers. Come on, I am trying to prevent your annilation by frozen American bums.

Hey Infwsdm, you at NASA off of 295 just north of DC? Just to let you know, when the U.S./Canadian conflict starts, we will harbour no colaborators. You can get that breakfast right here at Denny's.

That's right. Canadian bacon my foot, it's a round piece of ham. Bacon is long strips of crunchy fat with thin pieces of pork runn.... boy am I getting hungry.

Collin

How dare you equate my culinary talents with Denny's.
Appologize forthwith or I shall bombard you with endless pictures of cholesteral laden dishes being consumed at various locations devoid of gunfire or smog.

Like my momma said every night, "don't make me come up there". If you don't start showing the crappy side of Canada, we may have to invade with good ole American crappiness. Did you know that Canada has the most shoreline of any country in the world? Too bad you can't lay on the beaches without getting frost bite, eh?

Bring it on Mooseman. At least when Americans talk about enjoying moosehead they don't have their hands full of antlers.

So while I have you captive talking with the folks in kanuckland, tell me what my chances are of getting Goodman to reimburse me for a leak repair on an OD unit,,,,,

RoBoTeq
03-25-2002, 01:47 PM
Goodman has a labor fund that allows for leaks. It is not much but can cover expenses. Send an invoice to your distributor for $25 an hour that you spent on the repair. Include on the invoice model # serial # homeowners name, address and phone number and details of what was done. Your distributor should have no problem sending that off to Goodman for payment.
Sorry I did not reply, I am on vacation and a bit scatter brained.

Robin; didn't you see that picture Collin posted about the infloor with the sailboats in the background? That is the slums. You should see the really nice neighborhoods.Don't need no 9mm up here.:)

Collin

One of the wholesalers just picked up the line.
Maybe I should follow an installer who buys one to see where it gets installed.
That would have to be the slums, right?

I have a friend who lives in PEI who has no job, her exhusband has taken darn near everything she owned, and she has no education to speak of, but she lives in a 1400 sq ft house on the water, drives a Chevy Cavelier, and has a nicer computer than I do.

I have another friend who lives in New London who lives in an apartment over looking downtown, and describes an indigent population that show up in the summer sleep in the parks and disappear when cool weather comes. So, Canada is better than city life in the States in some ways, but still not Utopia by any means.

RoBoTeq

I knew it would take an American to point out the truth of Canada. Hey look, socialistic swine or not, I think you guys are great. I still think we should send you our homeless. They would get great care from Canadas' social programs and we would not have to arrest them to keep them from becoming popcicles.

Guy
03-28-2002, 08:57 AM
Listen up folks, no more beating up on Utopia...mmm,sorry, Canada. We already provide Americans and others with many useful services that everyone is taking for granted. We have never charged for the services of Santa Claus who is providing gifts for everyone in the world without charging even as much as the Goods and Services Tax. We also own the magnetic north pole, and have yet to charge a per-use fee or monthly subscription for pointing you in the right direction. One last thing, next time you come up here and get a new $5 bill showing kids playing hockey, remember the olympics and how we take hockey seriously!:)

Is that the bright red one? How about a coin called a Looney? And what's up with that hideous picture of the queen?

RoBoTeq
03-28-2002, 10:21 PM
Yea, only the weirdos in America appreciate our queens. Come to think of it, I've seen better looking queens downtown than the Queen that Canadians are hot for.

Have you guys officially gone bi-lingual? In Qeubec are you allowed to speak English? I think the only thing that keeps Canadian provinces together is they need the warmth of huddling.

Oh yea, and by the way. Santa may be on your turf but he's a commie Ruskie from the other side of the icy wasteland.

Guy

If *they* found out I was posting here in English, I could be arrested for subversive activity, that's why I always travel to the secret anglo bunker before logging onto hvac-talk. :) Joking aside, yes, there are laws (some a bit far fetched in my opinion) governing the use of languages in Quebec. Of course you are allowed to speak any language you wish, but the general idea is to preserve the French character of the province, so anything public like commercial signs and so on must include French prominently. You cannot put up an English-only sign for a store or advertising. Canada is officially bilingual and all government services must be provided in both English and French. The Quebec provincial government always tries to get away with as little English as possible (especially the seperatist "Parti Quebecois" because it goes against it's French only agenda and culture) while the Federal government makes a point of making it's services available in both languages everywhere, even in provinces where French is hardly present!

It's when news reporters go to places like Afghanistan and other war-torn or poor countries that they realize that we don't really have any serious problems if our biggest worry is the language on the signs. I sometimes get annoyed at the constant bickering about this when there are much bigger problems in the world...

About the queen...that is an old British heritage that just hangs around from the past. The average Canadian doesn't care much about British royalty and there has been talk several times about just dropping the whole thing (like Australia just might do).

RoBoTeq
03-31-2002, 12:05 AM
Well, the Queen dilema has been dropped for you. Who takes over the royal throne now?
Thanks for the detailed reply to the bilingual thing. We Americans may be going trilingual. English, Spanish and Ebonics.

Guy

Robin, the queen's *mother* died (she was 101 years old)! The reigning queen is still alive and well as far as I'm aware (and she's celebrating her 50th year on the throne this year, hmmm, she must have a sore...whatever). Apparently she (the one that died) was meant to be the next queen when the previous king died (George VI) according to the "rules" but she passed it on to her daughter Elizabeth II instead. Why...I have no clue! And just what I've told you here is already more then the average Canadian knows about British royalty.

BamaCracker
03-31-2002, 07:42 PM
um,. . . YES! Thank you Guy for that thrilling report on British royalty.

Guy, thank you for keeping me from anouncing that misinformation to others. My ignorance has shown and I am glad I don't have to keep score on royalty. Almost as bad as keeping up with the Pope position a few years back.
