Yes it can be bought,, but not through a distributor. You will need to contact your friendly IFO and be at his mercy as to what he wants to charge. I worked for a large Invensys customer and we were able to get it "thrown in" with a large project. Now that they are mixed up with T.A.C, who knows?

WorkPlace Tech is the software for Invensys Lon devices, WorkPlace Pro is for the Tridium Web models. You will need Visio to work with Tech

Okay thanks.

So if I wnated to get a copy can you hook me up with the right person railroad?

As an aside, if I wanted to replace the main controllers that controls the AHUs (do not know the model number of these controllers yet) with controllers from a different LON manufacturer, do the invensys VAV controllers expose enough SNVTs that proper global AHU pressure and temp control strategies can be achieved without the work place tech tool?
Or invensys locks up alot of info by using UNVTs, etc. and only exposed by using their software?

The question about the learning curve?,, not that much however it's no PSI. If you are in good with your IFO, he may load all the different versions of controllers they have had since going Lon. Making modifications on a large scale basis is not all that easy on the VAV controllers as I recall. The 800 programmable is easy. All other models you are pretty much stuck with the Lon standard profiles in order for it to be certified. Doing global gathering does not appeal to me inside the severate devices either,, I would do that with the "Invensys UNC (Tridium)".

The Workplace software is married to your computer on install. It requires a new license for each computer that the software is installed. From my viewpoint, it boils down to your local IFO. If you have a connection, you may be in luck. I haven't stayed up with the revision numbers this year,, it has been changing about once a year. They call this an open system and there may be other programs that will bind these controllers to other Lon systems, like Workplace Pro, but it will require Workplace Tech to make any modifications inside the controller. I hope this information is of some help Amigo,,, good luck
