I have a 8 year old Goodman split heat pump system. Air handler is in crawlspace, condensor outside. The fan blower motor in the air handler will not quit running. Unhooked the thermostat from the wall, left wires hanging and seperated, still won't shut off. Happens even when the heat is not called for. Only way to kill it is with the breaker running the power to it. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sight unseen, sounds like you have a bad relay in the air handler. Shorted wires is another possiblity. Call your A/C man to get the problem resoved.

There's a definate problem, for sure. Be safe and call someone who know the system and safety pre-cautions needed to be taken.

Not sure its the same thing as when my fan on the oil furnace would not shut off.
I was told that it was the AC controller that was broken.
