odor when my ac is off

when I Turn off my ac for a while It Smells like tobacco
I have cleaned the coils twice with coil cleaner I have no idea what to do now any ideas?

what r u cleaning the coils with the funk off the coils may be still in the drain pan clean it real good and see if that helps its getting colder so maybe after you do this you wont have to smell it by this time next year your smell should be gone.

Did you purchase the home from a heavy smoker? If so, it may take alot of effort to remove that odor and it may be from internal insulation, not just the coil itself.
