CO and CO2 are not the same thing. It is a matter of life and death to know the difference.

I'm guessing you accidentally said CO2 in the subject, but meant CO. We use Bascom Turner's Gas Ranger for CO and gas leak investigations. It's one of the few devices that is designed as intrinsically safe, so you can run it in combustible concentrations and not risk it blow your @$$ up. They only test for CO, Combustible gas, and optional O2 sensing capability and are a little pricey, but are built darn tough. Nothing namby-pamby about how well they stand up in the field.

Now, if I'm wrong and you want to test for CO2, such as for performing combustion analysis work, you need a combustion analyzer. Most of them do not actually sense CO2, but calculate it instead. Those with actual CO2 sensors are very costly, but most all the combustion analyzers I know of sense O2, stack temp., CO, excess air and such. Bacharach makes several models and so does Testo, UEI, Fluke along with several other companies. Depending on your budget, you can find some really sweet machines out there.
