Metro Detroit area, isn't anyone looking for work?

We're a small residential hvac company (10 -15) that has been in need of and looking for techs and installers since May 2012. We aren't the type to hire a lot of people and then lay them off, yet we can't find anyone. I don't mean we are being picky, anyone we call that is on unemployment are just hanging around waiting to be called back or we get felons that we can't send to the homes of our little old lady customers.
We have signed on with Bird Dog recruiting that has produced little, tried Craigslist and get people that live too far away.
We are getting pretty tired here, the guys have been consistanly working overtime every week since May.

What are your requirements? Maybe try picking out someone who's bright with good work ethic from a tech school and grooming them?

Start recruiting from OCC in Auburn Hills, they have the Environmental Systems program there. Give the director a call....maybe Jesse Rohaus? if he is still there.
