I was doing some reading on the Trane website and for all the XLi A/C condenser units except the XL14i it list Comfort-R as being a feature. But there is no mention of Comfort-R being an option with the XL14i condenser. I was under the impression that with the XV90 two stage furnace and the XL14i condenser, Comfort-R was an option.
Which is correct?
Can someone help clear up my confusion?
Thanks

Comfort R is a function of the XV line of furnaces and the variable speed air handlers. Not the outdoor units.

That is what I thought.
But why would Trane list Comfort-R as being a feature of the XLi A/C condenser units on there website?
Thanks

"But why would Trane list Comfort-R as being a feature of the XLi A/C condenser units on their website?"

Marketing, salesmanship, and misleading advertising....

Some of the XLi outdoor units, like the XL16i and 19i, are only ever matched with variable speed indoor units, so a XL16i or 19i system will always have Comfort-R available. They are talking about systems in the advertising.

The XL14i can be matched with the whole product range of indoor units, with several different types of blowers. Having an XL14i system won't automatically mean you will have Comfort-R available.
