Had the not so great pleasure of reading many posts from those of you that got stuck with this piece of garbage from lennox.
We have spent a lot of time and money on this thing and I need to to make it last until spring.
This years sudden problem is the brand new unbelievably load banging and popping sounds coming from the hm30 unit.
We are noe entering in to our cold time and we are very nervous. I am going to replace this unit but does anyone have any idea how to stop this noise?

I think it is trying to fire underwater. Turn it off.
Install elec heaters until you can get a replacement.
Contact the installer.

What did you mean by firing under water. I`m not sure if you are joking or giving me the straight goods. If it is firing under water what does this mean?

You should have a technician look at your complete heat unit asap. Hopefully the noise is a problem that can be resolved. The previous reply about fireing underwater might be talking about a leak in the tank between the combustion chamber and the water side. This will let water into the combustion chamber, but if the leak is small the unit will fire and the water turns to steam. If this the case your unit will not make it through the winter. Have it looked at now. I am sure that someone familiar with a complete heat would know this, but when the technician pulls the electrode and flame sensor a white crusty mineral deposit is a good indication of a small leak.Make sure a Lennox company is involved because that unit probably is under warranty.

When I had this problem with my Complete Heat (this was the 3rd of 4 brand new CH's that Lennox installed) the solution, according to my repair slip, was to replace the combustion motor and gaskets. A year later I was getting similar banging in pre ignition and the dealer replaced a gas valve kit (Honeywell 45L91) and a new ignitor kit. I was told to replace the ignitor kit every 2 years. I now have a Polaris (replaced for $1500 as part of the Lennox warantee) and it seems to be a much quieter unit, but have not had it on during a cold winter yet.

man i hate then things
call and have your tech dheck it out. Be ready to replace it sounds like water may be getting into the combustion chamber and it is fireing in water.
i hope it is a simple fix

Thank you all for replying.
As a lay person it is difficult to get straight answers from those who should give upfront advice.
I am now going to purchase a new Modulating and condensing boiler and get rid of this head ache. Too bad I did not about all you individuals out there before. My new system would have been in and paid for.
Lennox you should be embarrassed. From here on in I will sure let all who ask my thoughts on ANY Lennox product. If you pull your product off the market in such a short time You know the issue and you bury your head SHAME ON YOU LENNOX.
Pissed off in Alberta.
