I know it may take some time to write, but can someone please tell me how to wire a transformer in? I've done a 40VA on a 2 zone system but if you can, please make me smarter :D

It depends on the board, not all of them wire the same...

most zone controls boards that i have ever worked with are labeled where the transformer wires to the zone control go....what are you working with?

OK, how would you wire one in at a commercial job which is 2 zones. so you would need a 3 phase transformer.

No... you wont need a 3 phase transformer but you will need a transformer with primary voltage matched to whatever line voltage you are using. If you have not worked around 3 phase you need to get some help...different voltages... you can fry some expensive stuff if you are not carefull.

You need to be more specific with your question....give more details of what you are doing....what zone system are using...honeywell ???.... do some better explaining and people will be able to help you better.

Besides that, this is the resi forum, no step by step allowed in the resi.

Yeah well, I've been doing HVAC for 2 years. And this is something my company deals alot with. I have put in 40VA transformers on 2 zone system. I understand that each zone damper is 10VA and each T-stat is 10 VA and that is how I got 40VA transformer. I understand that, but Some of the 60VA and 75VA are a little different. And commercial jobs require 3 phase power to A/C so I considered you'd need a 3-phase transformer.

If you can, email me at XXXXX about this. I could sign up as professional member but I don't want to go through the hassle. I am not asking all this for a job I am doing. I am asking this just for the knowledge.

What is the voltage that usually us run to furnace is it 120V and on transformers do you just pick 120V wire on the primary side?

Thanks.

Perhaps helping to do HVAC, not doing it yourself.

You should tell your boss that you want to learn, not just follow instructions blindly.

If you can, email me at xxxxxxxxx about this.

It just saddens me to see some of the people coming onto this board.... wanting knowledge.....but they dont want to put any effort into gaining it......

If you cant fiqure out how to hook up your zone system in a building using 3 phase power....then you dont need to be doing this kind of work.... you have no business working in a commerial environment and are only going to end up hurting yourself, others...or the equipment you are trying to install.

If you were to join as a member...you could get help with your question and any others....you could also read the posts of others and learn a great deal.

fuse those transformer...........lol
