Hello,

I'm getting nowhere with the job I'm currently at. Nobody wants to let me do anything besides maintain equipment. I have much more qualifications then being a "maintenance guy". NO disrespect to anyone out there that maintains equipment everyday but it just aint my shtick.

Anybody know how/who to contact at Trane in New York about a job? Seems like I get no where when I apply through their website. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OR, any other companies hiring at the moment.

Thanks

No offense, but you must not look good on paper. Don't worry I must not look good on paper either. Trane NYC is a Union sig, they should be looking to the Local Hall before posting online, or inquire to the Local Hall and post online at the same time. I believe JCSS, HBS and Union TBS & HS branches posting online is not along the Agreement guidelines. Now if the Local can't provide HVACR Techs, that's a different story.

Swallow your pride, stop being egotistical, do the maintenance and learn as much as you can. In other words study the equipment you are working on and learn from it. All systems have something that needs attention. How long have you been in the field? Are you even a qualified technican? Why would a union company hire someone who is not in the union?

Trane will post job opening on line even in a union market. I think it's IR policy. The Trane office in Miami regularly posted openings on line even though Miami is union. I never used the union to get a job. I always went directly to the contractor, and told the union where I was working. If you're a good tech, you'll always have a job. Anyway, I digress.

How long ago did you apply on their website? It usually takes 2-3 weeks to get a response. You could always resubmit an application. Are they even hiring? You could always walk in the front door and hand in your resume too. Squeaky wheel gets the grease and all.

You are like a HVAC God, I think you dont need the union! is the union that needs you, I wish I knew what local you belong to, I would call then and congratulate them for having you.

I think if I waited on the Locals to get me a job I'd be like the kid in the V-8 Fusion commercial that doesn't want to eat his veggies. Here in the Southwest - West Texas, New Mexico, Southern Arizona, it's more than cutthroat. You have to get your own jobs.

The Equipment I'm maintaining ranges any where from 25 to 100 ton roof top units. Direct fired heating units. Indoor air handling units. Electric Reheats, HOt Water reheats....Furnaces..etc....the list goes on.

I really am not given a chance to actually service/repair these units because there a lot of arrogant self indulged ******** I work with that try to be heroes and look like a superstars any chance they get. Meanwhile, I witnessed one of the so called "top mechanic" I work with blow thermal overloads cuz he wired a simple dual speed motor backwords. Pathetic, if you ask me but whatever thats how it goes in this industry. And then try to justify it by saying " the manufacturer labeled it wrong". YEAH OK! Anyway, I know mistakes happen own up to it or ask someone else for help it won't hurt.

sorry for the rant

As far as I know they are hiring. They posted it on the IR career jobsite they have listed on their website. I've been applying since last week. Everyday. Maybe I should just go in to their office. I think its in LIC??

Gonna say this out loud only because its bothering me (not really) but... How do you wire a two speed motor "backward"... I am confused

:anyone:

In all honesty what you need to do is attempt to reach out to one of the employees associated with the division you wish to work. Many times it's "who you know".

I want to help you if I can, but you have not really done anything to help yourself as far as this thread.

Schooling? Years in the trade? Desired field? Success stories?

Having worked with some of the most arrogant punks I have ever met all thinking like you are sounding, it was not unreasonable for some on here to ridicule you a bit.

Just my humble opinion, take it or not..... I have a great job

GT Jets, How in the world did you come to the conclusion that I sound like an arrogant punk???? I've been called egotistical and now I'm being called an "arrogant punk" all from asking the kind people on this site for some help. WHAT A JOKE! That is what this post has become.

Really?

This post all but proves my point.

Humble the hell up and tell us something about yourself.

I said you sounded like an arrogant punk I have worked with. As an example, had a first year apprentice working in our area that thought he was worth Journeyman wage.... So I decided to "test him a little", after asking him about a dozen or so fairly simple questions about the equipment we were working on (hot water boiler) it was apparent he didn't know squat, so I told him that a true journeyman would have been able to answer every question i had just asked him without hesitation, he said "well I am not going to be working on this kind of garbage anyway"...

You have not stated your case very well IMHO.

Chill out and take some constructive criticism without reacting like a five year old. Geeze...

And as for the question about how you wire a two speed motor backward I was asking YOU how he did it, because I don't think you know. And there are occasions when the schematics are incorrect or very easy to misinterpret. FYI Happened to me last week. they had drawn the schematic with the 24V control circuit and the 120 control circuits tied together at two points. Didn't bite me in the ass, but could have. All black wire BTW...

If this is one of your major reasons for wanting to leave, I hate to inform you that they are everywhere. You will just lose those people and gain another or two.

We have one that reports to the boss when he goes and takes a dump, I'm pretty sure amongst all the other things he finds "wrong".

Good luck! And remember the grass isn't always greener in the pasture next door.

It's one of the reasons yeah. I guess I agree with you on finding guys like that everywhere. I'm probably jumping the gun here so, maybe I should just wait it out. I just want a piece of the service end that is it. If they give me one day out of the week to do service I'll be like a kid at a candy store. It's really not much to ask I think.

I could careless how many years someone has in the trade, you treat someone like a piece of doodoo I'm almost positive they will get the same treatment back. I never treat anyone with disrespect.

There was a similar thread earlier this year of a guy who was cleaning ice machines and said it was boring and he wanted more. He shot his mouth off and had a pretty bad attitude and got blasted here. A short time after he got fired from his job.

My point is attitude is nearly everything. I want you to understand I'm not trying to take a shot at you, I just want you to understand what can happen.

I myself started as a peon doing condenser cleanings, air handler maintenance and the like which aren't nearly as sexy. I learned some valuable lessons there and you can too. Gaining experience from watching someone else jack it up is priceless. Take it all in. While doing your service dig deeper. Don't just clean the air handler, study how it works. Study the controls that control it. Study the wiring. All of this will pay big dividends later when you get a call. Find out where the power is fed from, etc etc.

As far as guys on this site go, if you show a positive attitude and ask directed questions (even if they are stupid) you will always find your answer.

Use the chip on your shoulder as an advantage and not a disadvantage. Out work, out study, out perform all of your coworkers and you will reap the rewards. As I tell the guys I work with...."just go out and do your thing".

I started this thread with a question. That question was "does anybody know how/who to contact at Trane in New York about a job?" Qwerty Hvac was the only person to come close.

Why do you need to know my qualifications? I just don't see the need. I feel that I don't have to answer your question about my qualification for a number of reasons:

1) I don't think I will be applying for pro.

2) I don't think you'll help me get a new job

3) I am not giving out advice on HVAC.

So, I'm sorry but I'm not going to answer your question.

Gonna use my prick coupon on this one.....

1) I don't think I will be applying for pro. On what grounds does that have to do with anything?

2) I don't think you'll help me get a new job

Then why the hell are you here asking for help? There very well could be one of the posters able to do just that (offer you a job) you never know who is posting, could be a service manager of the company your asking about...Think about it.

3) I am not giving out advice on HVAC.

That was apparent with your first post.

So, I'm sorry but I'm not going to answer your question.

Never thought you were. You made it quite clear that you're so good at what you do that us losers would not know what you were talking about because it was so cutting edge... (feeling the sarcasm? I laid it on quite thick)...

Since you wont answer the questions, I will improvise...:grin2:

You sound like someone who has been in the trade for about two to three years. (am I close?), you have been to little to no formal training but already think you know more than everybody and don't accept help when it is offered to you. You also sound like someone that has little to no respect for people that can actually teach you a thing or two at your job. I know I don't want to help someone who can't help themselves and are cocky about it.
You also sound like someone that thinks that everything your being payed to do is below you, this will be your demise if not changed.

I've been around the block a few times, I have seen this trade chew people up and spit them out, I make EXCELLENT money doing what I do, I genuinely love my job and want to help people who do the same. The trade IMHO does not need more people with your attitude, there are too many already.

Cool your jets a bit and you will get there. Trust me on this one.

What I'm hearing is "I can't get out of maintenance but I've got qualifications"

Asking what those qualifications are is a valid question.

If you've got NATE and an EPA card, you've got SQUAT. It's meaningless. Every kid coming out of tech school has that and thinks that they should make top wages.

Now, if you've got some REAL qualifications it becomes a different matter.

Then why the hell are you here asking for help? There very well could be one of the posters able to do just that (offer you a job) you never know who is posting, could be a service manager of the company your asking about...Think about it.

Excellent point, GT.

Many people have been hired from posts on this site.

My company hired one and he's turned out to be a phenomenal asset to the company.

Also, people who do hiring read this site.

It wouldn't take too sharp of a person at NY Trane to put your story together with your application...

In one thread, you've badmouthed your co-workers and taken shots at people who are trying to give you assistance.

Not exactly what I would look for in a candidate for hire.

I'm kind of in the same boat that you are. I am 40 years old fresh from trade school, and got hired on about 4 months ago as a installer. I went into this line of work because I am good at problem solving and troubleshooting, and felt that service work would be a good fit for me.

I am partnered with a 32 year old guy who is so full of himself its sickening sometimes. To him he is perfect in every aspect of his personal and work life. I also hear him say on several occasions daily referring to other people in the company as idiots, and I am sure I am included in that. He even went so far as to tell me that he is so good if he left the company they would go out of business ( been in business for 52 years  ). He is very good at sheetmetal work though and I have learned a lot from him in this short time.

For the first time in a long time I find myself asking other people how to do something, and it has been humiliating at times. Sometimes in life you just have to suck it up and deal with it. Your opportunity will come someday, in the mean time learn some humility. Being confident is good, being cocky is not.

I am the service supervisor for a $30 million company.

There was a guy on here i had thought about hiring.

I made a comment or a joke about his skills.

Perhaps if you change it up a little as far as how you ask it wont be so humiliating... For example "what is the right way to do such and such".

The person that does not ask a question on something they no little about, will no little about it for a long time. Food for thought.

From what I read heres what I can tell you, which might not be much but maybe it will. First thing jobs seem to be taking a long time to get back to people know a days. I have waited 2 months before for people to get back to. Also if you are going for a union job you might be going back to what
your doing know and PMing units.

I know most people hate PMs but I know alot of guys who say this and truly believe that PMs can help you become a better tech. You can learn alot from them, Anything from how the units work to a unit having an issue and needing repairs.

Alot of guys on here are giving you greif because they dont have any idea who you are and what you know. For all they know you are 2 months out of some tech college with your first job. Maybe you just passed your test and your out in the feild by yourself and think your better then PMs, maybe you are but we dont know that from what you have posted. You have to reliaze that for if you go into a job interview like that I wouldnt hire you. Its one thing to have confidence but another thing to think your better then the job or the people you work with. Theres alot to learn here but you have to remember alot of guys here need information to help like anything else.

It sounds to me as if you fall into the first category that I describe, so here is my advice to you.

WOW! This is truely shocking. jpsmith1cm you're giving me advice when you're telling me that NATE ...Yes....NATE the people that sponsor on this website....in your own words "NATE means SQUAT." I should take advice from a guy that is bashing the same company that does business with this website, that I'm guessing you're affiliated with?? So, NATE means SQUAT, got it! Oh yeah same goes for the EPA. Alright thanks for the advice I hope I can use this in my career.

A BS aan EPA 608 certification and a couple of NATE certifications should increase your propability of getting a job.
Where I am at those items may help you get hired as a first year apprentice.
After that, you would need to work hard, learn and have a good attitude and you could keep your job.

freonrick
10-22-2012, 06:51 PM
I can see why you are not getting any where with that attitude.

What is your qualifications? Experience? Time in the field? How is your people skills? never mind on that we know already.

Keith73
10-22-2012, 06:59 PM
OK, Here is another way to look at it. Most companies will have new guys do routine maintenance until they know he's not going to screw up a major account or something of that nature. Routine Maintenance is not routine lots of time. Analyzing a system during that process and finding problems or soon to be problems is part of it also. If guys doing maintenance are missing things that others are having to follow up on, that extends their stay in maintenance.
Oh, and if you are "lucky enough" :-) to end up in a 140 degree attic some day trying to sort out someone else's rats nest of a wiring job, you just may wish you were outside cleaning coils.

wicat3
10-22-2012, 07:47 PM
Your not giving anybody any information on your qualifications. Like the others said most people have good test taking skills get a few certs from NATE and an epa and think they can do it all. I have a buddy I worked with and graduated from tech school with and the guy could not get out of the text book. He would charge a system being 60 degrees out but he was doing everything like it was a 90 degree day. When brought up that it wasnt 90 he was like a deer in headlights as to what to do. Alot of guys are not great at test but in the feild is another story. I dont take much from people saying they have a degree or certification becuase I have met to many people who take a test like its there job and when they go do the job there a complete reject. For all we know your maintence job is your first job in the field and you have only been there 2 months

Yes, childish, I don't think you have handled yourself maturely more than one time in this thread.

I am a union service Journeyman and when you turn out you have a BS, an EPA Cert., are Star certified and have attended at least one factory training program. I have been to Trane Centrifugal classes, LEED accreditation classes, Eaton VFD service and start up certification, JCI Metasys training, Electric motor troubleshooting, Vibration and balance classes, advanced electrical troubleshooting classes, welding certification classes among many others, does not make me an expert in any of them, not even close.

I have diagnosed, estimated and repaired 2000 ton centrifugal chillers, installed and commissioned dozens of VFD's in various pieces of equipment, written programs for building automation, been involved in NUMEROUS Green Build Leed certified projects, many of them Gold or Platinum, worked on clean rooms and labs to obtain ridiculous specs. among many more I'm sure...

So there, do you feel better now?, I have shown you mine....

So from what you have given us so far, you have not set yourself apart from an apprentice. Not by a long shot.

Again, "text book technician"....

I am finding it a little hard to believe that you have not humbled up even a little bit with the VAST MAJORITY of the posters in YOUR thread giving you great feedback about your attitude.

We have hired some pretty good guys out of the trade schools and local colleges and they are barely entry level, they know some terminology and theory, but when it comes down to actually troubleshooting, writing up and ultimately repairing they are humbled virtually immediately. They get better by asking intelligent questions and being the "grunt" for a year or two before getting into a zone. We all need assistance once in a while, that is why this site exists IMHO. Anybody who claims to know it all fakes it a lot.....Or is very lucky.

Just my humble observations.

NATE certification and a buck and a half will get you a cup of coffee in most cities.

What it WON'T do is make up for a poor attitude, which it sounds like you have.

There are no shortcuts and there are no freebies.

My 11 year old could memorize and regurgitate the facts required to pass an EPA test. It isn't a big deal, PLUS, it is rapidly becoming meaningless in our trade as HFC refrigerants take over.

But I never have and never will kiss any journeyman's a**. You think you'll get coffee too, that'll be the day. You got the wrong guy.

I did my time in the industry and I worked very ard to get my degree and certs. You guys on here think paper means nothing but it does in the real world trust me. I know how to turn a wrench not just a " textbook tech". I strongly believe that changing filters and belts does not make you a good mechanic. It's hog wash. Finding out why the machine is broken, or why did the comp. trip out, or why it's not cooling is what makes a good mech. Repairing the machine and finding out why certain things happen. Honestly if you're telling me you have to time examine a machine while you're PMing it then I'd think that you'd probably get one machine done a day. Which means in my company you're out the door.

The workers here know what type of person I am and they don't want me to excel because they know I will succeed at anything and the company will count on me rather than them. They are threatened by me. But that's ok because trust me. My drive and my work ethics will get me where I need to be.

Just keep repeating this to yourself maybe it will come true..

Truth is, they don't want you to excel because your an arrogant ass... They're probably waiting for you to humble up.

Remember when I said "you think every job you do is beneath you, it will be your demise if not changed".... It is even more true in my eyes after reading this post.

For the record, it has nothing to do with kissing asses, but having a respect that can be felt by everyone you work with. Does not matter how large or small a shop is, this is ALWAYS the case.

Honestly I think until you learn this elementary ideal, you will never be happy in your work.

Let me explain something to all you people that think I have a bad attitude. The job I work for now loves me. I get a long with everyone and never turn down any job! But I never have and never will kiss any journeyman's a**. You think you'll get coffee too, that'll be the day. You got the wrong guy.

If everyone "loves" you then why are we having a discussion about people you work with holding you down?

I did my time in the industry and I worked very ard to get my degree and certs. You guys on here think paper means nothing but it does in the real world trust me. I know how to turn a wrench not just a " textbook tech".

Yes, OK fine, but you never told ANYONE on here what you even had, so they don't even mean a damn thing to you....

Again, it has been said that they me nothing by themselves.... They are a great enhancement to someone that has the rest.

I strongly believe that changing filters and belts does not make you a good mechanic

Your wrong......... Simple as that. Explanation; Learning the discipline to change filters and belts, clean coils, pull burners and clean condensate pans is something most (if not all) of us have gone through... I have one rule that may give a clue to how my brain works, I will NEVER ask someone to do something I either have not done or will not do myself.

It's hog wash. Finding out why the machine is broken, or why did the comp. trip out, or why it's not cooling is what makes a good mech. Repairing the machine and finding out why certain things happen.

In all honesty, I call BS, it is harder to find a problem on a machine you're performing a PM on that still runs but maybe not optimally. Once it's broken, that's easy, it's keeping it from breaking that is the challenge, why else would someone pay you for a "Preventive Maintenance"?
You missed the mark by a mile here.

Honestly if you're telling me you have to time examine a machine while you're PMing it then I'd think that you'd probably get one machine done a day. Which means in my company you're out the door.

The way my company works is, a PM is checking the operation of the machine while servicing it, this is where 50%+ of our work load comes from.
You sound like a filter vendor. If all you did was change the filter and check the belt, that IMHO is NOT a PM.

The workers here know what type of person I am and they don't want me to excel because they know I will succeed at anything and the company will count on me rather than them. They are threatened by me. But that's ok because trust me. My drive and my work ethics will get me where I need to be.

Is the sky blue where you come from? See the first lines of this post you made...Hypocrite. People who "love you" will do everything in their power to help you excel.

After trying to talk some sense in to you I have come to realize that some people just can't be helped, hope you find what your looking for and have the common sense to keep it.

Good travels.

Attitude is directly related to your altitude. The OP is not taking off soon.

If paper credentials are so important why is there so many college grads on the unemployment line?? A piece of paper dies not instill craftsmanship and obviously a good attitude in your case.

I started this thread with a question. That question was "does anybody know how/who to contact at Trane in New York about a job?" Qwerty Hvac was the only person to come close.

Why do you need to know my qualifications? I just don't see the need. I feel that I don't have to answer your question about my qualification for a number of reasons:

1) I don't think I will be applying for pro.

2) I don't think you'll help me get a new job

3) I am not giving out advice on HVAC.

So, I'm sorry but I'm not going to answer your question.

That's because six months at trade school doesn't really count for much.

I have to agree with everyone else. PMs make you a better tech and gets you more work. How do you think we find all those cracked heat exchangers and bad contactors? If you are pming a piece of equipment correctly you will be diagnosing problems with equipment before you get a service call. That is why it is called Preventive Maintenance. When you are changeling a belt for example you can check the the bearings and end play in the motor. Also you can check the pulleys or shives for wear. These are just a few of the issues I see on a service call of a unit that was not properly pmed.

Funny thread. 17 years in the trade, work for Trane, still maintain equipment for proper operation and buildings for proper performance.

Dude, unless your banging duct together, your maintaining equipment.

I work for a manufacturer also and I run about 10-15 service calls a year. The rest of that time is spent maintaining the equipment at the accounts I am charged with taking care of. I log everything, measure everything, develop trends for everything, and as a result I can spot big problems while they are still little problems. I generate enough work out of my own accounts and those few service calls a year to keep me very busy! When I'm not doing that, I'm cleaning, calibrating, or testing something. I could be cleaning coils on a small air-cooled chiller or calibrating the oil pressure control on a monster centrifugal chiller. It is all maintenance and it's the most important work you can do in this trade, IMO.

To the OP. I'm gonna try to forget everything I just read and try to give an honest answer. You say you have the qualifications to be more then a maint tech, and I'm sure on paper you do, but really need to know your level of experience. If you are in fact a 2 or 3 year guy it's a different path then if you are a 5-10 year guy. Experience is far more valuable and desirable then paper. If the prior is true then Trane is probably not the best coarse to pursue. A smaller shop with a variety of accounts, residential, light comm, comm, industrial, refrigeration, and such. You have to build a solid foundation of experience, and take your lumps, before you jump in the deep end. Your confidence is admirable but will get you in trouble without the experience to back it up. You may think and believe you can handle a 215 ton screw machine on a process line but if you can't and can't see it your career is going to nose dive. You'll cost someone alot of money and then you'll be "that guy". Reputation tarnished and opertunities evaporate. So take this for what it's worth. The most important thing in this industry is reputation. You have dug a deep hole on this thread in that regard. I don't care how much paper you got a bad reputation will get you to the couch and keep you there.

Thanks
So have you found a new job yet? I dont think you are making any alliances or friends here

Again why is that you dont have a new job with such drive and determination as you say it. Not trying to bust balls here but what do you think you will be doing if you work for Trane? Start out as the senior tech and not be doing PM's on equipment. Good luck!!

I think he is at the stage were he learned a few things now has an ego, when I was younger I thought I was so great because I could do this and that. It all changes when you get thrown to the wolfs, sink or swim, that's humbling.

exactly!
I was in his position at one time!

i remember being young and learning.

company i worked for had replaced 3 condensing units and evaporator coils under warranty at one house.

i got there and suction line was iced up outside, inside iced up too.

the entire company had been there including the young service manager.

3 ton system
removed 26 lbs r22.

weighed in charge and quickly determined problem with TEV!
found installer left piston in along with TEV!

fixed and started unit!

low suction high superheat

found suction line kinked almost shut inside brick wall.

fixed and bammmmmmm!

i figured from that day on I was the best mechanic in all of space and time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know, I had a new apprentice/helper start with me today. He's an Indian kid, been in the country for 6 years. He doesn't know sh!t.
I had to explain how to set up unistrut and reddi rod.
But, the kid shut his mouth and listened. Didn't complain about having to lug all 75 lengths of 1 1/8 hard-drawn up the stairs, or sweeping up at the end of the day.
Wants to learn, pays attention and asks questions.

Maybe it's a cultural thing, but even at 30 years old I'm aghast at the lack of work ethic most young white kids have these days.

I'm 31 also and it's starting with our generation. The work ethic is pathetic. Cell phone use and the inability to stay on task is absurd. Work ethic couldn't be found with the hubbell telescope. It's really sad.

I agree to a point but I also disagree. I think the people you refer to as being humble, know they don't know everything. It's the newbies that think they know everything!

It takes a certain "swag" to be the best. Good examples of pro athletes who are like what I'm talking about would be Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. They honestly believed that they could make every shot, every time, and especially in the biggest moments. Having the confidence to know you will figure it out no matter what you're sent on is huge, IMO. No one likes an arrogant jerk though.

you need to have confidence in your skills!
confidence in your basic knowledge and ability to troubleshoot!

If you get sent on a call tomorrow for a broken steam iron at a clothier or a munters dehumidification unit with a heat recovery wheel or a Hoshizaki ice machine or elkay drinking fountain!

the night before when you go to sleep you should know that even though you have never seen one before you can fix it easy!
That is confidence!

knowing that you only know 1% of this crap is humble!

I like guys that work on 1 chiller and all of a sudden they are a chiller mechanic!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I am a skilled mechanic!
I also know that there are millions of other skilled mechanics and I could get my arse kicked by some little piece of equipment tomorrow morning!

are you taking about "TheChillerMan"? I dont know him that well but I can tell you without a single doubt that he doesn't make any mistakes and he finds his own jobs since he was an apprentice two or 3 years ago. You are probably a little bit jealous cause he work on big intimidating 'chillers' and you don't!!!

To OP - Call a Home Warranty company and ask for their contractors who work for them in your area. I'm sure you'll get sent on plenty of "service" calls to "repair" some equipment if you work for them. Hope you got a lot of duct tape!

Its funny you mention that because I'm going to school with a guy who currently works for one of those types of companies. Working for them actually motivated him to go to school in the first place but man are his stories funny as hell. Funny and sad

I remember one time the warranty company I work for (NOT home warranty) had a customer with an Allied heat pump, thing was about 4 years old from what I recall. It was in the middle of the cooling season and all our usual quality repair shops in the area were too busy to take on a new account, so we reluctantly resorted to the phone book. The "tech" that ended up going there said they needed a whole new HP and sent us a quote for like 6-7 grand. We opted for a second opinion once one of our regulars freed up and it was just a TXV which they replaced. Haven't heard any issue with the HO since. The hack got a "service" call out of it.

638B doesn't place techs in companies so forget the HALL.you get hired in a union shop and they get you in the union afeter 45days.go over to Hauppauge TRANE on OSER AVE and walk into the main office side and give them your resume

Maxster, thank you so much! FINALLY!! Someone that answered my question and actually "helped" me without giving me advice on something else, or attacking me.

To most of the people that replied on here that liked to make fun of me you can learn a lot by looking at Maxster's reply. The guy (Maxster) answered my question and stuck to the point without making any derogatory comments, attacking remarks, giving so called "advice" and trying to put me down. It was a simple question that called for a simple answer.

And for that Maxster I "appluad you!" Thank you!

Is that how you fix your repair calls by putting a bandaid on them? Unreal!

You're probably a subscriber to Krazy Glue as well.

Just making a sarcastic comment, don't mind me too much. I'm not a tech but I know ways to move from PM to "service"! Hope you find what you are looking for.

Hello,

I'm getting nowhere with the job I'm currently at. Nobody wants to let me do anything besides maintain equipment. I have much more qualifications then being a "maintenance guy".

BTW it is MANY more qualifications
